So the Catalans are all robbers are they?

Or is this some more Xenophobic bollocks you enjoy promoting?

only just read this thread as i just back from me jols and this single reply sums up a fair few dickhead comments just jumping to conclusions about an individuals view of a subject (mainly on race issues),thus i would like to advise people with left wing views to read VERY slowly so the brain cause has time to adjust to the fact that just because someone gives a negative opinion they may not be being xenophobic..
Forgive me i did not think i was negative & did not offer an opinion i was only asking a question .but thanks anyway for asking people to read before jumping to conclusions

i tend to think if you want mither and go looking for it you could probably find it , if you dont and like me you behave then there shouldnt be any trouble - and when i go away i get more pissed than most!

Not sure anyone compared the place to Baghdad.
What isn't in doubt, is Las Ramblas has rightly earnt the nickname "Pickpocket Capital of Europe"
The fact people were forewarned and still had items stolen and pockets dipped during their stay, vindicated the warnings imo.

My mate and I ended up in a bar off Les Corts after the game and there was a pissed up Barca ultra in there. Had to leave sharpish as it had the potential to go tits up. Luckily the pub on the next block had a few blues who we knew, so it was ok.

Apart from that, had a brilliant time.

what a stupid thread, anyone who knows about europe knows ramblas is one of the dogiest streets in europe for brass/theives

people who were warning about it on here were doing people a favour, sounds like 5/6 had stuff nicked aswell so people were spot on to warn.

its not a slur on barca as a place or thr people of barca just that this bit is iffy, its the same as the back of piccadilly in manc or peter street on a saturday night.[/quote Well there must be a few hundred etupid people on her ethen cos it has had loads of hits .most of the 5/6 who had stuff nicked did not have it nicked on Ramblas but on the Beach & Metro .by the way do you make it a habit of replying to "stupid threads"

Stop being so arsey ffs

My post was aimed at the stupid post after yours waffling on about xenophobia, not at you for asking if there was any mither.

Its pretty hard not to reply to stupid threads on here to be fair, its a minefield

Big hug x

well i had to smile reading this thread. barcelona is just the same as any large city. if you are not careful you could be pickpocketed or mugged. no difference for a stranger than being in most cities in europe or anywhere else. if you really think barcelona is a rough place better pray we never have to go to marseilles or paris for a euro match.

I think Spanish law is the reason why Barca's different to somewhere like say Germany or the Skandi countries.

Many pickpockets are known to the police and some have been arrested hundreds of times only to be released once the police have filled in a report. Stealing money or goods worth less than about £200 without the use or threat of violence is classified as hurto or petty theft under Spanish law and is treated as a minor misdemeanor no matter how many times it is repeated.
The problem is compounded by the few policemen "walking the beat" in Barcelona.

As for your point about Marseille & Paris, I'd agree. I'm aware of the current gun problems in Northern Marseille with the organised crime gangs and the 2005 riots in the Paris suburbs. Even places like Nice on the Cote d'azur are no longer immune from muggings.

The point is, people were made aware of this and there was reltively few incidents. If we do draw PSG or I'OM, I'd probably enourage people to be as equally vigilant.
