Diego Maradona

If you've not seen this yet, it is a must watch. A brilliant documentary about Maradonna, focusing on his life, his wife, women, drugs, the Mafia, why the Italian nation turned on him(won't spoil it), his football career, and his time at Napoli, where he became a God, helping Napoli to win the title twice.

Yeah it’s excellent.

The greatest footballer I’ve ever watched that 86 World Cup he’s was unplayable I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player do that in a tournament, what he did for Napoli was unreal. Yes he was a troubled individual but by God (hand of) what a genius footballer RIP

if we can all remember that football is an entertainment, and diego was one of the greatest entertainers in the history of the game, just great to watch and enjoy his skills.
RIP

Just feel due to fitness, dieting, the training methods always improving, the funding etc etc - if you were to put say Brazil's starting 11 now v Brazil starting 11 from the 70's at there prime... i reckon the nowadays team would absolutely smash the 70's

It would be embarrassing. The fitness standards have changed so much, not just aerobically but strength and conditioning, people we see as lightweight like Sterling would be pushing centre backs from the 70's over like they were children, all that core strength work makes a huge difference.

RIP Maradona Absolute Legend the best ever! Will always remember clapping him into the Etihad that day and felt in the presence of genius!

Feels weird to read of his passing.

This video never fails to make me smile:

Love that video. He just has brilliance and arrogance in abundance. Yours stopped at 2:20 but i love the end on the longer one. Imagine warming up and that was what you were coming up against, beaten before you even start i imagine.

Very sad news.. I was fucking fuming when he scored that handball goal but what an amazing player.
Definitely one of the best players in the world.. R. I. P. DIEGO

Sad to hear this. He was one of those unique, iconic figures who transcended his field like Muhammed Ali, Bruce Lee, Freddie Mercury, etc. I'm currently watching Maradona in Mexico on netflix, and it really makes you warm to him despite his faults.

Sad news indeed.

Great footballer, some would say the perfect shape, small, quick, brilliant on the ball. Very hard to knock off the ball. I remember he got hacked to pieces when he first went to Italy but still shone. A truly great of the game.

But...

For all his genius I could never take to the English hating druggie cheat.
