i just posted that in the Pellegrini thread, and wanted to do the same here...

I don´t really get is THIS HIPE (hype) WITH "Cholo" Simeone....

I mean, he´s for sure a middle till good manager, BUT... WHAT DO HE HAVE WON with others teams, that not Atleti are???

I know a lot about Argentinian football, and I can say you, he was only AVERAGE BEFORE ATLETI. He done nothing special with River and Racing, and looks all the time very nervous and also with no plan B.

He was EVEN OFFER AS A MANAGER TO OUR CLUB UNIVERSiDAD DE CHiLE iN 2011, BEFORE SAMPAOLI CAME TO US, AND THE CLUB DiND´T WANT TO HAVE HiM AND DECIDED BETTER TO TAKE SAMPAOLi....

So, what is this big hipe with Simeone... I don´t really get it...

Maybe, If he go to another club in Europe and prove, that he can still get some success, I will take notice. Otherwise, I think, he was only very lucky to get the job in Madrid, and did a very good work there... BUT.. nothing more...

And, i really like him.. but hes not iMO a number proof... hes still on the road, and depends to much on the PLAYERS HE GET UNDER CONTRACT... as many other so called "good managers"... :/ ... just my opinion... :-)[/

You're an idiot
BUT... I come from southamerica... so.. i have more CLUE than you here...

Or want you to teach me who Simeone is.. C´mon man ... try to find some better arguments lad... or.. ??

What his achievements are or aren't years ago are pretty irrelevant. He was a very young manager and presumably still learning his trade, agreed? He has been at Atletcio, what 4 years? In that time he's won la liga, copa del rey, europa league, super cup and was one minute away from a champions league. That is remarkable! He's in the top 5 managers in the world without a doubt. And for you to call him avearge to good... That's laughable.

A far better response than your previous one of "you're an idiot".

I prefer the first one.

Good manager but i think Guardiola and Ancelotti are better .
We need a proper stellar manager if we want to win major titles

Without restriction......i'm pretty confident our current manager is capable of such.
So you think next season we will see an improvement under Pellergrini .
I would like to think your right .
Not so sure myself .

Definitely,i believe this summer will see the departure of the half dozen or so players that have no future here while their replacements will be of a quality to improve us while maintaining the consistency we presently lack.
I'm not suggesting that Pellegrini is the ultimate manager for our long term ambitions but neither is he anyone's mug.Unless the likes of Pep becomes available......We'll do just fine under our engineers leadership next season.

And WHY NOT TO GET SAMPAOLI????

He´s now with the National Team of Chile under contract, BUT... who knows...

He always siad, he will be pleased to manage some team in Europe...

And if hou have seen our Team in the WC in Brazil, you will know, that Chile plays one of the most atractive football on the whole tournee...

Just saying....

The notion of Simeone is attractive because he is one of only two managers who can consistently beat the big 3 (Bayern, Real and Barca) with small budgets.

I like Manuel's football but I question whether we can ever beat those 3 in a knockout game. His system relies on retaining the ball and accurate passing. Basically, skill. How are we going to out-skill those clubs? They have access to player we can't buy. We certainly won't stifle them, as our defending is as inconsistent as ever. And even when we look better against a manager like Mourinho, the best we can manage is a draw.

Simeone's system relies on workrate, positioning and aggression to make up for the skill gap between his teams and more talented teams. I don't see any other way for us to consistently compete.

We could start by trying to buy better quality players that can play the way Pellegrini wants.

As for Simeone he has achieved great things with the squad he has. Not sure that he's the right man for us though.

Simeone strikes me as one of those managers that builds a team of relative unknowns into a team in his own image and gets great success, but then moves to a team with established players, way of playing, a team that's had success, When he gets there he can't implement his style, at least not fast enough, and fails. Think Clough at Leeds. That,s why I don't think he's right for us, and I get the same feeling to a slightly lesser extent with Klopp.
