Apparently won’t go from the email to google pay, think it’ll be a trip to the ticket office at lunchtime.
If you are not uploading it from her City account, but from an email you have been sent/requested, then it might depend which email provider you are worth.
If you have Gmail, or access to a Gmail email address, forward the link to that, and then click on the email link again and you might have better luck.
It seems that Gmail and Google Pay wallet work far better because same company.

*she obviously has to have her email account also synced to her phone for you to download the ticket directly to device.
