Digital Tickets

Worked well for the last home game although you have to download the ticket to your Google pay which gave you your bar code to zap in instead of your season card, easy for me but there were loads not holding there phones correct & women or adults over 60 I would say panicking no patience just holding up a small queue imagine 50.000 fans going to be a fucking nightmare also the IPHONE didn't show a bar code but they got in OK, I also guess you won't be able to pass on your card or sell on only to City if only going to your phone email that's registered?
Here lies the problem.. what does download to Google pay mean? Will everyone know what to do? Will people just leave it until they get to the turnstile. People on the piss turning up with no battery left on their phone at the last minute trying to download. Loads with cracked phone screens.
It’s gonna be a nightmare to try and get 50k phones and people in the ground without loads of fk ups. I’m dreading it

How does a cracked screen affect NFC?
I can understand people having concerns about how it will work on practice but let's not make issues up.

I’m no technical guru but was only thinking that phones with cracked screens let in damp or moisture and may affect the phones performance or functionality

If NFC isn’t affected by this then great

The issue at the Everton game was the useless scanners at the turnstiles (at least M2 entrance SS). Even with only a handful of people in the queue no-one got in first time. This wasn't a case of FOCs not knowing what they were doing but all ages couldn't just place their phone close to the scanners and get in. Unless the club address this and upgrade them then it will be chaos with full capacity crowds.

Anyone care to suggest the odds for the club replacing all the scanners in the next five or so weeks?

Mmmmmmmm, about the same as the odds for the folk on BlueMoon to stop complaining about things that are outside the power of the folk in our ticket office? ;-)
Remember it ain't the little guy/gal on the end of the phone's fault, they can only give and work with the information they've been given. :-) :-) JMHT

I agree it’s got nothing to do with the ticket office staff and I never suggested it was.

However, it is everything to do with the senior management and I have very little confidence that they will make the required investment. If they have made the decision to have mobile ticketing as the primary means of entering the stadium then they have to ensure that the kit at the turnstiles is up to the job. Currently it isn’t in my opinion based on the experience of the Everton game.

Hi, I didn't say you were talking about the office staff. I was making a joke about your betting odds and just adding a thought of my own. No intention of offending you. Sorry.

I know you never have a go at fellow posters and I was only replying to say that the ticket office staff are bearing the brunt of very poor senior management decisions.

For a generally well run club I have to say that the operations side is mediocre at best.
