Dinamo Zagreb (H) post match thread

Hate to think what their cunnt fans will be like at the return match
They spent half an hour chanting “feed my goat, feed my goat, feed my goat, shag that goat”.

Then all clapping in choreographed unison like some cheerleading squad. Then all taking their tops off, what the fuck was that shit? Haha

Like all these Europop Ultras; they were a proper weird bunch!

But the Balkans are arguably the most active hooligans in Europe so any Blues going there will have to have their wits about them.

Did anyone see any Zagreb fans being arrested? Ripping out seats and throwing bottles into both sections of City fans and even striking riot Police yet didn’t see a single one of them carted out.

One of GMP’s finest in the full riot gear outside the ground at the end was shouted at by a few Blues asking why they didn’t do their job, and he did a crying and wiping tears motion with his face and hands.

I have seen a video of these morons on facebook . They reminded me of the Russian hooligans in France. All males and buffed, looking for trouble. I tried to post it but it wouldn't load. Any police or stewards trying to go in there and take a few out would have had to fight them all. No easy targets in that end. Give a few stewards manning the segregation line their due they were very forcibly shoving a few of the cretins back. Most police and stewards wouldn't have encountered anything like that lot in our now soft match going crowds in this country, so were probably shitting it.

They actually looked like some Right said Fred gay cult with their tops off lol. Any Blue's going to the away leg better have their wits about them.

Wouldn’t fancy going over there - fuck that.

First the game itself

Once again our finishing was appalling no excuse for it at all. Sunday morning stuff pure and simple, however well we played in other aspects its goals that count and until we address it we are going to be in danger of falling short in all competitions until its remedied. Aguero Bernado and David Silva should be embarrased by their attemps tonight and its simply not good enough. You could see Pep was fuming with it as much as he clearly and rightly was with the officiating on and off the pitch. Shite.

Dinamo defended for their lives and the officials did everything they could to assist them keeping City out, the keeper looks a good one to and credit to him.

Apart from the finishing there was plenty to compliment with nobody having a particularly bad game though some of our passing unusually left something to be desired.

I think many on here underestimated Zagreb who are a decent side and came to defend and keep City out and hoped to snatch something from the fixture which they almost did. I think there were many on here who expected a cake walk and given some of the sloppy play we exhibited from time to time suggests despite Peps warning a few of ours grossly underestimated Dinamo as much as the less European football educated posters on here. Sterling made the difference other than for him we might have dropped points.

As for VAR and the officials they did nothing at all to allay the widely held views amongst blues that UEFA in particular are bent as fuck. Every borderline decision going against us really doesnt look good on the part of the officals and Uefa. I really cannot blame City fans for having a dislike or at best an indifferent view toward the Champions League. Makes you wonder if we should give up on this competition in the full knowledge that we simply cannot win the thing whilst this trend continues and question what the worth of even playing the strongest team in it.

Having been the only Englishman amongst many Croat Dinamo supporting Croats and having been treated excellently by the locals during the match it saddens me to hear of the goings on with the Zagreb fans tonight. UEFA must surely act? There will be many Croats if they see or get to hear of the pond life type behaviours of their travelling fans tonight will be embarrassed and horrified. After all when comes to being safe and hospitable Croatia really does take some beating and is way beyond our bloody awful cesspool of a country. Uefa will surely act. As for our cowardly coppers no surprise there as frankly they are by and large good for nothing bullies adept only at dishing out fines to those whom offer no threat, frankly I doubt they fancied tackling a horde of Croats who might just give them a hiding.

Still Atalanta would seem to be poor and 4 points from the next two fixtures and a home win against Shaktor which there is no excuse for getting bent officials or otherwise should see us destined for being bummed in the knock out stages as usual.

I am firmly in the camp that says we need to win this trophy before we can claim to be in the same level as the relegation candidates of the cheating victims but see little hope of that happening until we can learn to bury easy chances and at least have some even handed officiating the latter it would seem is most unlikely in the near future.

A decent side can string more than 3 passes together. They're obviously not shit and they defended manfully, abetted by some bad finishing from us.
I think you give them too much credit in their abilities.

I think they are better than you think, they will be a tough nut to crack at home and will clearly offer more going forward, i think they will go through in second place and cause a big gun problems in the last 16...a shock last 8 appearance might not be beyond them. After all the stuffed a Serie A side 4-0 I doubt the rags could manage that currently.

Agreed. This was really not a game of any importance for them, 0 points planned from the moment balls had put them in the group with us. They came here to avoid being embarrassed and they did exactly that. They were in the game until 95th minute.

I think we will most probably find it easier in the away leg, as they will come at us more. Now you are doing them such an injustice, comparing them to that shower of shite.

Only by incredible luck and dodgy refereeing other wise it could of been embarrassing.

Have to hold my hands up at that one to be fair the rags would struggle to put 4 past a League of Wales side over two legs, unless you factor in a penalty shoot out.

could see loads of seats getting thrown but police and stewards did nothing. Suspect they didn’t fancy retaliation from the horrible twats

Pep gets a yellow card.

Another part of the UEFA armoury to fuck us up.

It will be dodgy for sure and I don't see much protection being given either.

They didn't cause any problems this season so far. Only Hungarian fans brought numbers to Zagreb so far though, but they had some deal with them to peacefully coexist in both games. Ultras like to wave their cocks on away games though and with English fans still having that thug tag from the past on them, it was probably some kind of idiotic pride matter to show themselves as tough guys in England away match. Croatian media are even proud on them, lol, as they think they behaved well and were loud. The stuff you guys are mentioning are minor incidents compared what they used to have n recent years when they were in war with their board. As long as police doesn't beat and arrest 100 of them, it's good, lol. Looks like your police is soft these days.

Not really sure about streets, but I guess there shouldn't be problems on the stadium in Zagreb. I hope so as I am thinking of coming with two of my kids. I'd still rather go to home end because of kids, but I think it's going to be very hard to get tickets there if they get good results in next 3 games. Buying tickets from City will probably be easier task.

first 15-20 minutes they were too impressed but I had a feeling they defended pretty well after that. Parking the bus, but we didn't have clear cut chances in 2nd half. They blocked anything that was close to that. It's huge gap in quality and I thought they did well with that. They are doing very well in Europe considering they play in the league where they play 80% of games with 2nd team and still win it by 20 points.

See what you're saying fella but goals and refereeing decisions would of changed the game totally 1st half and then it's just a case of how many.

As a matter of interest were they kept apart from Red Star by UEFA and would they be kept apart should they both get to the last 16?
