The CIC or whatever backers fund the purchase will want a return on their investment from the football club.
City have a brighter future as the backing is more 'genuine' and focusses on a massive reconstruction around COMS and a global presence which is way, way ahead of anything planned elsewhere.
I dont worry about other clubs' financial standing as it really does look limited against City's.
Also the simple fact is any owner wanting a financial return from a club will be less likely to fund major player purchases than more, and certainly wont want to outbid City, Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The future is bright and its Sky Blue ;-)

i am surprised that though there there takeover is imminent , some guys just cant believe that there can be an investment in lfc , even though they are being backed by one of asia's biggest wealth funds. These guys will definitely invest in order to make it a bigger brand around the world , these guys just wont clear the debt and be sitting ducks to see the club at 6th or 7th position. In order to see value to their initial investment , they will def. try it to regain it to their earlier glory as they know its just a path for more riches for the club and themselves.
