As has been covered earlier in this thread the minimum number of points somebody on only the FA Cup scheme could have is:
Season ticket: 1190
Cup scheme: 50
Leicester: 10
Notts County: 100
Aston Villa: 100
Reading: 100
Total: 1550
I highly doubt there are any first time season ticket holders who only signed up for the FA Cup scheme.
There may however be first year season ticket holders who signed up for all 3 cup schemes. These people would have a minimum of:
Season ticket: 1190
Cup schemes: 175
Europa games: 50 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 100 + 100 = 280
FA Cup games: 10 + 100 + 100 + 100 = 310
Total: 1955
Most people seem to think sales will reach at least 2000 points so even the people with the least possible number of points will only have gained the advantage that they will have a better choice of seats.
Season ticket holders have been given priority because they've committed to this season. Cup scheme participants have been given further priority because they have committed to this season's cup matches. The cup scheme is effectively a season ticket for the cup matches but you only pay when the tickets are released, this is only done because the number of cup games will not be known at the start of the season, if the club could charge up front they would, however, the commitment to buy is still there.
For those saying the club should have announced at the start of the season that cup scheme members would be given priority tickets should we progress to the later stages of the competition, that would defy the point of the loyalty, the people who signed up to the cup scheme did so because they knew they'd be at every cup game no matter what, not because they'd potentially have a better chance at a semi-final ticket, and that is now being rewarded.
I also disagree with those saying the people who have been to every cup game should be given the same priority as those on the cup scheme. By not joining the cup scheme they gave themselves the option of missing a match if they wanted/needed to. That's not the same level of commitment. However, I believe they should have been rewarded, perhaps when the loyalty points reached 3000 points any season card holder who had attended all FA Cup matches should have been able to buy a ticket, regardless of points?
In summary I believe the club have done the best they could. They've given first priority to people who committed to all games this season and second priority to those who committed to all league games this season based on previous loyalty.
