Discontent that will end the Tory Govt is coming

This will be followed by a winter of malcontent.

I don't think we'll end up with bins not emptied or no food or people not being buried etc, our infrastructures are more robust nowadays.

It will be something else just not sure what.

An interesting thing about this strike is that it is revealing how the pandemic has changed society and, in turn, how that might have an impact on industrial action; even that term is starting to sound a little outdated. For example, a strike on a work day such as today might be less of an inconvenience to people now that so many have become accustomed to working from home and can easily revert to doing so when given adequate notice. A win for the government and employers, we might think, yet at the same time, if the Unions realize that such timing is maybe less effective, then they'll likely target days when they can maximize the inconvenience: first weekend at the start of the school holidays?

I thought the first summer of Covid felt weird, but this doesn't feel particularly pleasant.

So the costs of providing goods and services go up, but the price of the goods and services remain the same?

I see there are a lot of David Ike types when it comes to basic economics these day.
So you are of assuming that everything just stays the same? Like the paying less dividends to pay for the pay rises? Or did you miss that lesson in basic economics?
