Some advice to MP

Take a look at the performances of Atletico, in particular last nights fantastic job on that white trash.
Look at your fellow South American "chollo" Simeone and see how you can ingrain just some of the togetherness, commitment, purpose, determination and downright will to win into our individuals the way he has inbued the very same qualities into the DNA of Atletico´s players. They play with the passion of the fans, something Simeone understands fully. We would get ripped a new one by Atleti based on yesterdays aberration. It simply can´t go on. Twice we thought the game was won and complacency reared its ugly head. We thought it was game over. We were taught a costly lesson. We could be 15 points adrift before too long at this rate.
I have now returned to the natural default setting of expecting nothing from City as frankly I don´t know WHAT to expect one week to the next. Maybe it´s the sensible attitude to take atm as it takes the pressure off and some of us (yes me!!) might take things a bit more in our stride.
Make no mistake , yesterday was an abomination and anyone who really thinks it was anything less is dodging the issue. The two strikers up top yesterday was a combination hardly anyone on this forum would have sanctioned - it clearly didn´t work so why did he insist on it in the first place? Our pass and move play seems to have been thrown out with the bathwater in favour of a scum type wing play bombardment. This was supposed to compliment and provide a plan B to our normal strategy , not become the blueprint for our style of play. There were gaping gaps between the lines of what appeared to be a 4-2-2-2 formation, spaces fully exploited for 2 of the Villa goals. Why on earth weren´t we defending with 2 banks of four if it was supposed to be a 4-4-2 set up?
Disjointed, lacking purpose and devoid of the ruthlessness required from a squad of such quality which leaves me frankly bemused
I sincerely hope we haven´t picked a dud

Hard to make a comparison with someone who has been in his position a lot lot longer, but some people will.
Well lets see if Bayern rip us a new one on Wednesday.

Not sure that's the game that people are worried about.

West Ham is the next game to get the excuses ready

Pellegrini failed to take his own advice and shifted his focus away from Villa and towards the CL match on Tuesday. The substitutions of Nasri and Fernandinho at Villa and Cardiff could have cost us the title. What price a happy dressing room if that happens?

A lot of posters were quick to praise including myself after the Plzen,Derby and Wigan games.

Are we entitled to criticise now to balance that because he fucked up yesterday with the substitutions and the starting of Edin anNegredo together.

Just asking for a bit of balance?

That humble pie has given me a little bit of indigestion..........

Could have cost us the title? Really? Excuse me while I get a taxi down Real Street and don't join in with all the drama queens.

He's right.

Just like beating united could have won it.

It all depends how many point we get.

Last season when we lost it was always the managers tactics, selections fault.

Funny how certain posters change there own little agenda when we get beat on the road - again , to it being a freak result,a lucky villa win blah blah blah....

Sorry but his selection up top and substitutions were shite yesterday

Aguero's injury problem dictated the striking partnership. That and the Bayern game in midweek.

I think the two as a pair aren't ideal

At this stage of the season though it's good to see that the old City is returning

We've played some very good football in recent weeks.

I'm anticipating a loss at home to Bayern, but for the moment I'm happy that we have steadied the ship

Marv-The ship was never unsteady at home and it was always away with the previous regime. So what has changed?? We beat a poor plzen side which is all very well.
Wednesday will certainly be very interesting.
