Couldn't believe what I was hearing on here over the weekend, with some blues saying they were happy with the performance and enjoyed the game.
Doubtless this was, at least in part, aimed at me and accordingly deserves a response.

When I first started following City in the 1976/7 season we were indisputably one of the top clubs in the country and when we were falling down the divisions, and had seemingly missed the boat at just the wrong time, all I wanted for my club is that we would find our rightful place among the game's elite once again. Nothing more. I didn't yearn for global domination. Just our rightful place back. And by virtue of a miracle we've got it.

We'll be in or around the business end of the table for the foreseeable, challenging for trophies, being taken seriously as a footballing force and I'm also getting to watch my club play in Europe's most prestigious stadiums.

What does that mean? It means we'll win more games than we lose and have some magical days. We'll win more than our share of trophies and have some great stories to tell.

What doesn't it mean? It doesn't mean that there will be no crap performances or that we can expect to have a great season every year. It doesn't mean we'll win all the games we'll expect to or that our players will always perform to the best of their potential.

I accept deal partly because I'm grateful for where we find ourselves and also because I operate in the realm of reality.

And that is why I enjoyed the other day: because it was a good game of football, because the Villa fans at the end reminded me of us when we used to take a big scalp and I felt they were entitled to that moment and because I still think we'll win the league -and if we don't, I realise the world won't stop turning.

My life is pretty good a the moment and part of the reason for that is supporting a cub which is back where they belong and I'm not going to allow a loss against the run of play to make me lose a sense of perspective on that.

This doesn't mean fans should be "happy clappers" or not feel they can complain, but they should also not come on here with tiresome predictability after every defeat, like the world is ending.

We're back where we belong and routinely challenging for trophies. If that isn't enough then I suggest you'll never really be happy supporting a football club.
THE best person to read. Love your posts. Your last sentence sums it all up. We are where we are. Sing it, bring it, blue army!

None of this really has anything to do with Pellegrini though does it. This post could be summarised into the following: I am glad we were taken over by Sheikh Mansour.

I refer you to the first sentence of my post and remind you of your predilection for responding to posts aimed at you, that are off-topic.

On that basis your reply is both hypocritical and churlish :-)

My response was not on the basis that you had ventured off-topic, more that posters are discussing one specific game which does have much to do with Pellegrini and questioning how you could have enjoyed it. Your rebuttal was not that you particularly enjoyed the game but you were enjoying life as a City fan which veers somewhat away from your contradicted statement. I therefore found it an inadequate response my learned friend.

And I'm not? I'm not happy that we're no longer shit? I don't enjoy seeing the likes of Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Kompany, et al in that blue shirt? I don't thank my lucky stars that we're no longer getting dicked by Stockport? I don't appreciate the fact that we've won the fa cup? The Premier League? That United fans can no longer rule the roost, and take the piss out of lickle City? I didn't celebrate winning the league with the hint of a tear in my eye? Give my rag acquaintances a shed load of grief after the 6-1? And so on. I questioned the mentality of some fellow blues that actually enjoyed watching a game we lost. To me that's a totally alien concept. It's nothing personal. I just don't get it.
