Discuss Pellegrini (Pt 2)

I didn't understand taking off Nasri in the 60th minute. Seemed like a substitution with an eye on the Champions league. Thought we should have kept him on until at least the 75th, just to keep the game under control. He was dictating the game. Second, I thought it would have been a like for like with Navas for Milner. Once we lost the central midfield creativity and hold-up play that Nasri supplied we looked a different side. Another tough lesson for Pellegrini & Co., but all is not lost just yet. Puts a lot of pressure on the big games vs. the north Londoners, but at least we are usually up for defending leads the big games.

It's early days and I am no expert but from what I have seen so far City under Pellegrini will resemble Kevin Keegans Newcastle / City (and yes I know Pellegrini is supposed to be tactically astute unlike Keegan), ie we will play great football, be up for the big games especially at home, we will have decent cup runs but will be too inconsistent to win the league.

Hopefully I am wrong but the manager's record isn't that of a serial title winner and I read somewhere that his away record at Malaga was not great.

As I say though I am no expert.

38 points from 38 games at Malaga. Hardly a great away record!!!

what was his away record like at madrid ??

To be fair Nasri still looked as though he was looking for payback after the first half incident -so he was potentially looking at a second yellow.
It seems a feature of this team (under Mancini & Pelly) that following a period of pressure & goals when we look immense we then get pushed back easily and look pretty crap when under the cosh ..Chelsea away in the cup last season,Cardiff, Villa even last 30 minutes of the derby when they hit the bar,& missed a sitter .4-3 doesn't have the same ring does it.
Its as though we lose all shape and cannot switch from offense to defense.

A good point.I actually think he was lucky not to have received a straight red for that incident.
