What a complete and utter mess the club have made.fuck all to do with previous regime but pellegtini imo
Is well out of his depth.
Hart..drop him asap.
Dzeko..sell him asap.

Dont mind losing but the lack of desire tonight is frightening it reaaly is..not to worry hey cos the players will get there cuddles..players step over the line but the manager picks the team..tactics and dress it up all you like ..he got it wrong.
Knew it was you as soon as you came on gmr, fella. Just listened in the car. Nice rant. Thought you were going to do yourself a mischief ;-)

Wasn't lack of desire for me tonight, although there were some bad errors made. It was a systemic fault which was obvious from five minutes in. Silva should have been on for Nasri to keep the ball, negredo should have been on for dzeko to give us an outlet ball when they did press us, and Milner should have been on for navas or Sergio to shore up the midfield.

I've never seen a game where the changes were so obvious from so early on.

I think the manager took that pragmatic 'I will give it until 60 minutes to improve" stance and in this instance it was a bad call. When he finally did make those changes we started to play.

I'm not panicking but I hope he's learnt a few lessons tonight: hart needs dropping, silva is miles better than Nasri , negredo is a much better option than dzeko and the fernandinho/ yaya central partnership is not looking like its going to work consistently. Ultimately, when the dust settles its not a game we needed to win, and the are probably the best side I have ever seen in the flesh.

But we could have made it such a different game.

Really messed it up tonight, 100% to blame on our end of things & apparently said to Ian Cheeseman after the game that he was happy with the formation.

442 does not work, it's hardly worked wonders in Prem so far bar 2 H displays, as soon as opposition but 3+ in cm we get beat or made to look poor (at Stoke).

Worrying that even when it's clear it doesn't work, he continues with it, tonight Fern & Yaya were embarrassed by 5 Bayern midfs, felt bad for em as they put everything into it but it's no contest.

Completely unacceptable from Pellegrini.

I'm not saying that had we played the right formation and personnel tonight that we would have won that game, but at least it may have given us a chance. However we lost that game when the team sheet was handed in before the match, or even for the past few days if he's been preparing them to play this formation in training. Dreadful dreadful coaching. I don't know whether to be angry with him or feel sorry for him. I certainly felt sorry for the lads on the pitch because what could they do?

With the ball Bayern played a 3-7 / 3-2-5 formation; the two centre-halves split and Lahm sat between them, the two full back pushed forward and Schweinsteiger Müller Kroos Robben and Ribery interchanged around the midfield - they didn't play with a striker:
------------------------Neuer---------------------
----------Boateng-----Lahm-----Dante----------
Rafinha--------------------------------------Alaba
Robben--Kroos--Schweinsteiger--Muller--Ribery

And we played 442, giving them between 2 and 4 free men with all the time and space in the world. You could have got a kid from the local primary school to work out that was wrong. Yet it took him until the 70th minute to change it.

Awful

Unacceptable

Yes, they are the best team in the world; yes, they are on another plant to us...but that makes it worse! The space they had for 70minutes was criminal!

I really want to give Pellegrini some time and see him trough his time with us without calling for his head - and I won't - but I'm sure as fuck don't want to see that level of tactical ineptness from him again!

-5/10!

Spot on. At half-time I thought he'd finally have the sense to bite the bullet and accept his tactical ineptness, but he laughably persisted with it. Mike Bassett tactics.

I'm not so sure ... maybe we wouldn't have been overrun so much - but fuck it ... sometimes you have to hold your hands up ... we could've played with six in midfield tonight and we'd have still gotten our arses handed to us. Bayern were fucking spectacular. Bang up for it ... and the early goal was really all they needed to make it impossible for us.

That's not say that Pellegrini didn't fuck up ... he should've changed things at half time ... but really, even if he had, Bayern had another gear. Of that I'm sure.

@StuBrennanMEN: Uefa team sheet has Bayern lined up 4-1-4-1, with Muller as the lone striker

Interesting...
Well we need to get the man onboard to let pellers know midfield is going to be the battling ground. Tactically inept sorry to say it Pellers

He was brought in to play attacking football which is fine, but horses for courses. We can't set up against Bayern the way we do week in week out. It just seemed like he froze when the original plan wasn't working. I don't know whether it's arrogance, total belief in what he's trying to do or pure stupidity but I know which one of those it looked like.

If Mancini had been in charge of that team tonight your post wouldn't read the same.
