We may have the best 11 but Pelle has rarely had the luxury of such, have we even played with the same back five in successive games yet?

Hart not ready says MP , MP doubts Hart's credentials.
Who cares.
All that we should be interested in is who is available and who is not , anything else from these conferencces is not worth discussing,
Of course the press will seek a headline no matter what, that's why it's important to not wantonly give them headlines. So far Pellegrini's been very careful to avoid giving them anything, which should be commended even if it does mean he's judged solely on what we do on the pitch rather than how entertaining his press conferences are.
I think as the season progresses and the table becomes more realistic Pellegrini will no doubt relax and be a little more open with the hacks. But for the moment I agree with you, the only thing that matters in them is the injury update.

My point is the press will put their on spiel on it whether it be out of context or not.

I agree ... although I think that because it's so early in MP's tenure, it's a little unfair to compare to what would/wouldn't be accepted if the former manager were still in charge. Simply put, if our away results are still this shit after Pellegrini's been in charge a full season then I'd totally agree that they're unacceptable. For the moment though, as he said in his press conference, the performances haven't been anywhere near as bad as the results suggest so you'd expect that things will turn around as the season progresses and since he's a new manager he deserves that leeway.

Its a bit of both for me, some of our performances have been better than the results, but some have been poor (Cardiff, Stoke, and Sunderland were poor performances), and we can't say that its just bad luck, its not.blueinsa said:BillyShears said:blueinsa said:The away results really need to improve and whilst i don't think his job is under pressure, its difficult to keep accepting them and making excuses especially when a lot of us wouldn't accept similar under Bob.

I used the term results for the same reason as you mate. Our performances have deserved far more imo and i honestly dont feel there is too much wrong or too much to worry about.
I will happily see where we are come the end of the season and judge him then.

We also don't have the luxury to wait till the end of the season to see if the away form improves, as we have to makes sure we are in the CL next season, and for that to happen we MUST improve the away results immediately, because while our home record is exceptional, it means we can't afford to drop any points at home, and that is unrealistic to expect for a whole season

I thought our work rate at Sunderland, before we went behind, was poor, and this is one thing that does worry me away, Lawrenson had it about right on football focus today, we just don't work hard enough without the ball in away games, and all home sides will press us hard, especially the more they see us struggle against that style of play, but this has been going on away for more than MP's 6 away league games this season, its at least 18 months we have generally been erratic away from home.BillyShears said:blueinsa said:Top 4 come the end of May will be us, rags, Arse and Chelsea. Yeah ... the concerns about us finishing in the top 4 seem wholly unrealistic. Even taking into account our away results so far. I'd be more worried if all our away performances had been akin to Cardiff/Stoke. I didn't think Sunderland was a particularly poor performance. Pellegrini got his team wrong to start with, and made changes it half time. It was a poor show from him in that respect, but had either Negredo or Aguero had even a marginally better day we'd have run out comfortable winners.
