Discuss Pellegrini...

He's not proactive enough and I'm starting to worry that he might have a mental subnormality.

Liverpool play in the same way every week. Overload the midfield, get it to the forward players as soon as you can. How have we not scouted that? How have we gone to Anfield in the first half and played like we don't know what day it is?

I didn't like Mancini's style but Christ I hope Pellegrini flayed Kompany in the dressing room.

Same thing in every must win game, we keep showing up and being turned over.

He is just a coach at the end of the day, so I have no problem dumping him if he persists with his tactical naivety.

He has shown once again he has no clue what to do in a big game. He has lost twice to Chelsea, and once to Liverpool. If you lose 3 times to your main 2 rivals you will struggle to win the league.

The only way to counter this is to beat the lesser teams. However despite the shite and sheer delusion of saying not many teams will win at the likes of Cardiff we have only beaten 2 of the bottom 6 away.

He is out of his depth and the job is too big for him. The board need to realise this the sooner the better

He doesn't know when to play tight and let the team come to terms with the speed of the game. Instead we were wide open at the back as we have been so often this season.

Watching Atletico is a revelation compared to this football. They get forward, they attack and relentlessly pressure, but aren't naive as hell in big games. It's no surprise to me that our two title rivals took 3 wins out of 4 from us. We play exposed at the back in almost every game, and even if we know their counter can kill us (they taught us this in the home fixture, we were lucky with offside decisions that day), we just set up in a way that allows them acres of space behind our two overworked midfielders.

Garcia or Milner from the start would have alleviated much of this problem, unfortunately we seem to have an ideological commitment against this sort of setup.

I dunno. If we don't win the title, I won't be disappointed if he's replaced. We've outspent Liverpool handily and have much more quality top to bottom. Whenever he does part ways with City, hopefully our next manager has some sense of pragmatism.

It's easy in hindsight to have a pop. Keep the faith.

In hindsight???? I've been saying the same thing for about the last 6 games ffs! We saw how things changed when Milner came on. He adds solidity to the midfield, yet doesn't detract from out attacking prowess. Our manager can't see this apparently. Cost us the first half of the game today. Baffoon.

As usual this thread moves away from topic of discussion,
Meooooow.
:-)

OK back on track, Mr Pellegrini is a great manager and he knows my motto (because I keep telling him) The Boys in Blue never give in, they fight to the end!! ;-)

It would help if we fought from the beginning as well.

I thought his hair looked nice today.

Not as nice as some managers we've had though.

Did nothing wrong today for me today, played Clichy played Navas, inform Dzeko - Yaya coming off wasn't in the game plan - Milner never starts, he's a game changer and couldn't last 90 minutes anyway.

Where exactly did Mr Pellegrini go wrong?

It was the players not containing them for the first 30 minutes that did us, everything was setup to do that.

did anyone complain when the team sheet was read out, or did it look as strong as fuck?

He was to blame for today . It was like last Saturday when we played Southampton . We were all over the place . I go watch Bradford Park Avenue from time to time . And they can start a game a lot better than that . We started off like a pub team today . Not good enough .

-- Sun Apr 13, 2014 4:13 pm --

He was to blame for today .
