Although tonight is disappointing, how about a bit of perspective. There can only be one winning manager per season in the league & we have no divine right to win it EVER regardless of money spent.

Having witnessed Bond, Benson, McNeill, Frizzell, Machin, Kendall, Reid, Horton, Ball, Coppell, Neal, Royle, Keegan, Pearce, Sven, Hughes & Mancini, I'm pretty happy with Pellegrini.

Keep the faith.

Far too many knee jerk emotional comments on here tonight with it looking unlikely we win anything this year. If we had a bit of luck which is required to win leagues/cups, we could have been looking at a double/treble/quadruple, so for me he ain't done badly in his first season.
It's not about not winning the league.

It's the stubborn tactics, lack of a plan B and lack of passion and fight that are a worrying and continuing trend. There's more fight in Henry Cooper than there is Pellegrini

As harsh as labeling him an "entertaining nearly man" is, his football's not even entertaining anymore. All the ifs, ands or buts only reinforce the "nearly" part.

Jeez I was indifferent towards Pelle before Lpool and tonight's game. If anything after reading the personal attacks, the Manure like divine right to the league posts and the lack of sense of consequence of removing him - I actually support him more.

It's like a car crash. So called Blues asking others to commit suicide because they don't hate Pellegrini. Still it's a decent reminder that every club has it's segment of losers within the supporter base.

I like Pellegrini in that he plays super football, he seems to be a very good man manager and from a football point of view is an upgrade on Mancini but I don't think he's the man to take us to the top table in European football. Our team just isn't ruthless enough to reach that level. I would love to see Klopp in charge next year. It won't happen we'll have Pellegrini again playing wonderful attacking football but we won't win the league.

Guys like Klopp (and Pep for that matter) their squads need certain characteristics that right now ours just doesn't have. We have some excellent players bought in a trolley dash over a period of a few years, without any thought going into where they fit/what system they will play. Hence we've had so much wasted money. Txiki's big job since he's come in is to reshape the squad so that it is keeping with that characteristics required to attract progressive managers looking to build the type of club we want.

No one can predict with any clarity whether Pellegrini will succeed or fail at City.
Bollocks...unfortunately he's a nice football playing loser.

Can I have this week's lottery results please.

If he gets us finishing third you have to give him a pass mark for his first season.

The question is whether our players en mass want to go to into the trenches for him when things get a little tough.

If not he won't be probably see out a third season in charge,

Pelle reminds me of Wenger. I admire his convictions but he's stubborn to the point that it has cost us. Good Manager not a great Manager. A man to move us forward but not the one to settle on ultimately.

The performance tonight was strange. From the moment we went behind we woke up as did the support.
Too little too late.

I keep banging my head cause I can't figure out whether the players or the manager are to blame.

Good managers motivate players, and look at Liverpool this year. They seem to have a great mentality and fighting spirit. Would Rodgers manage to do the same at ours? I'm not too sure. We always have a team sheet that looks amazing. No Flanagans, Skrtels, Johnsons or Allens there. Still, Liverpool are winning every game whereas we mix amazing performances with shite like today.

How Mourinho and Chelsea are in the mix, I don't even understand, but he must do something right. He motivates the players and they always put in a fight, but then again, Pellegrini is also known to be liked by the players.

So what is wrong, why haven't we managed to play as the title winning season again? Are our players spoilt? Why could Baconface motivate the same old players year after year after year, when it seems impossible for us?

In games where it has mattered the most this season (Chelsea home/away, Liverpool away, Arsenal away) and we could have taken strides towards an 'easy' title, we've just looked average at best and not too interested. Why, why, why?

Had to rant a little bit, but I'm tired, confused and sad.

Probably true. No more Scott Sinclairs I hope.

Every time I read this thread a small part of me dies.

The egos and arrogance of certain blues never fails to astound me.

How the fuck did some people cope when we were truly shite pal?

Thought you were all at York away so how the fuck can you really moan?

[/ I think it's more than likely we will win the league cup this year.
