At the same time I just feel like the atmosphere has changed, even in a shit performance against Villa we managed to get that third goal.Exeter Blue I am here said:NQCitizen said:With Ancelotti out of the race, Klopp seemingly out in the cold and Pep likely staying I'm siding with keeping Pellegrini.
I've liked what I've seen from him lately he's shown pragmatism and grit, even a renewed vigour - I do wonder if it's the sign of a relieved man with a safe job but orders from above to adapt and react.
Not being funny, but Spurs aside, where the line up and formation was dictated by the absence of Toure to a degree, where have you seen these attributes? We were a shambles against Villa, a shambles at the Swamp, outplayed in the Nou Camp, and outfought by both Palace and Burnley. Only two comfortable wins at home to West Brom and West Ham recently have bucked the trend, and one of those teams had a man sent off after 38 seconds.......
The rest of the season before that I feel like it would have ended 2-2.
The worry for me though is what if it's solely down to two absences - Yaya and Kompany.
I can't shake the feeling the team looks happier and less fractured without Vinnie. I know we're all hoping this season is a blip from him but what if it's not.
If we started next season with Pellegrini as manager and Mangala and Laporte our centre backs I wouldn't be shocked.
Interesting viewpoint. Tend to agree that we have appeared more focused recently
