Valiant losers but the stats don't lie I'm afraid.
Any manager with this squad and a record of 1 win in 5 and 3 wins in the last 12 should be moved on.

Sadly it's true, I think squad choice/tactical error in the first leg unfortunately allowed us to concede 2 easy goals right from the start.

Tonight was better but this should have been noticed early on. Trophyless season I'm afraid and while that isn't all bad I think our management would deem that reason enough to move MP on.

Worth noting that last 4 losses in last 5 games came mostly with Pelle able to choose from a 100% squad. Yaya was suspended vs Barca first game, given how he played vs Burnley, Pool or today wasnt a big miss.
Other than that we had a 100% injury free squad. Still lost these games in a very ugly way.

Imagine if we just had Silva or Kun out all these times. We could blame their injury for this form. But they were not , its a 100% squad which is quite rare yet our defending is piss poor no matter who we come up against, even Leicester was unlucky not to get two pens and were able to miss sitters.
Attacking play recent weeks also awful.

From todays game apart from Hart form what did we learn? What did we learn that if we face Barca next year we do differently? Does Pelle learn anything? Will he watch back both game of this tie and analyze it for long hours day after day to correct most of the mistakes done by him and players?

IMHO I didn't think Mancini was treated that well, I think any manager would have problems with C Tevez and "Mad Mario", I think this year pellers has done a much worse job, City NEED !!! to be looked at with a fine comb and ALL the dead wood discarded, I read this article in the Daily Telegraph

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/11476604/Manchester-City-have-barely-progressed-at-all-despite-spending-327m-since-2011.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -2011.html</a>

and that sums up all of MCFC Problems, we are basically playing the same Team as 2011, I think on average its a TWO player difference , where AFC have a team with TEN different players and CFC NINE etc from the teams they played in 2011, anyway its explained in that link,
But really City have stagnated and stood still, in top flight football you have to constantly evolve and also IMHO its time "The Engineer" went back South America & carried on repairing Earth quake damage over there as he certainly CANT get to grips with the MASSIVE fault line that's running right through MCFC at the moment, 100 % Clueless..............

Last year after the Barca home leg Pelle was slated for playing one up front, pundits left, right and centre saying we should be more positive and not be scared... Skip a year to this season's home tie and we go with two up front. So we've taken the media advice because the way to beat Barcelona is play two up front and ahh shit it's 2-0 and now the media have decided the way to beat Barca is one up front! He can't win either way

Don't sugar coat it without Hart he'd be packing his desk tomorrow.

Right. If it hadn't been for Hart it could have been 4 or 5. Shambolic.

One thing. Yaya should never ever play in midfield again. He is now only viable playing behind Kun. Nasri needs to be offed. Not fit to lace Milner's boots.

Anyone who says he got his tactics right tonight is wrong. Yet again he picked Yaya in a midfield 2 who decided he wasn't going to press, make tackles or track runners. Personally felt so sorry for fernandinho who is doing the work of 2 men. And don't even get me started on nasri.

MP got it wrong AGAIN tonight - get him a taxi.
