I think you're revisiting history if you think last season's finallists, the back to back EL winners and a Bundesliga top 4 team, were the easiest group we've ever had. The only tougher one was the year we got Madrid and Dortmund IMO.

Given that we could of had Bayern, Madrid, Barca, Psg etc Juve was one of the weakest teams available. The back to back Europa league winners didn't even qualify for the competition on league standings and wasn't this Gladbach's first year in the competition?

Bayern roma and CSKA was a much harder group The year before was probably the hardest as you say, year before that, we Had Bayern again and i think Napoli when they had their tremendous counter attacking front 3 and Villareal wasn't it?

For me, it's like buying a new car.

You have a car, it's good for what it does. Has it's limitations but it's performed well and done what you've expected of it.

After a while, your goals change, and the demands on your car change, you need more from your car. Your car, albeit sound, isn't suitable for what you need from it.

You change your car for a better model, capable of doing more, for longer.

You look back on your old car with a soft spot, grateful for it's service, but you look ahead with your shiny new motor. Excited to see what you can do with it.

An amusingly shit analogy but I like it.

Or you pass the car on to your son or auntie so it doesn't do as many miles, and everyone's happy.

I'm agnostic as far as Pellers. Respect the man management and that 13-14 season. Not thrilled with the performances in general he is getting now.

But using "failure at Anfield" to bash him as someone earlier did? A tad unfair, I think. That and Arsenal away are our two worst fixtures of the past generation.
