Disgrace with this mate, silvas played left mid numerous times, he even plays as a winger for Spain. Aguero had a quiet game (it happens) but when he had chances he failed to take them. Imo everyone bar ota had a shit game, don't think it's fair to single out one player

Silva is out of position in that team with the players around him, he cannot offer balance and protection to the fullback, to play him there you have to make allowances, he did have a poor game but we lacked pace and intensity and fortunately in the middle of the park is the worst place, I love ya ya but that was as inept midfield performance as I have seen in a long while, caught on the ball endless times, poor passing, players running passed him with ease and contributed nothing up front, it's a huge conundrum for us and we don't have a guy that is willing to even address it

Yaya has no place playing deep...months and months of games where he has been liable are all the proof one needs on this. This is the whole point of what has made him stick out for all the wrong reasons for the last few months at least. Which tonight only emphasized beyond argument.

...if he HAS to play, it HAS to be further up to give the defense a sporting chance.

He was very good defensively against Leicester but my pointnwas that he should be deep within a midfield three, in a proper 4-3-3.

Then it will be a 4-2-3. I think the solution is clear...he's a passenger that needs to be dropped.

100% on the money but he won't do it because navas and sterling are a must and he will not drop kdb or silva or try one of them in toures place, so he does what he always does and plays silva, toure and kdb, two of them out of position and the other who doesn't have the legs anymore
Didn't we suck doing that at Villa?

We have had that conundrum since they signed imo. We win stuff because we are brilliant at football, but Yaya, Silva, Nasri etc etc are not the group you would pick to play together in a team formation, if you had a blank sheet of paper. But the same players in a weird & wonderful Pep system may be an entirely different matter (if they are still here).

I wonder what he would make of the front two non pressing tonight. Awful.

Barry is one of the greats in that role imo, but I'd fear for him in the middle of this fucking shambles with players performing like shit around him & a manager making it worse.

Barry with Fernandinho with him would get a grip of the midfield and dictate play; look how he's prospered at Everton with the legs of McCarthy or Besic next to him. We lose a lot of games in that midfield area. He's the player Yaya Toure should be at this point of his career.

Probably my all-time favourite City player along with Tevez.

No need to hit our heads against the wall, we all know he's gone in the summer, Pep is coming and we don't have other choice but to be patient until then.

Oh and one last standalone point. That fucking c*nt Madley. A stonewall penalty ignored, and he counted out the 10 yards for all our free kicks with the kind of stride length you get from a tightrope walker over Niagra in a strong wind.

One of the greatest ever descriptions on Bluemoon!!
I salute you! After a shit night that made me piss my sides!!

I'm not sure about that. He was never the quickest but he's lost a yard again now. With the wide open spaces in this team, I think it would be too much. I think it would be too much for most players, as it would playing centre back. It's a mess.
