I expect if we go out of the carling cup next week the usual (now) few on here will be like we are still in 3 trophies etc etc but let's be honest we ain't gonna win the champs league so we will be in two. And given that we dont seem able to win against our closest rivals with mp on board added to the way we are actually playing can anyone be confident he can win us the league? I accept we our third my point is with another manager in this position id be confident with mp I'm not at all because he does not seem to be making any progress in terms of performance. I also accept that we are stuck with him and that's frustrating.
I guess some of us are really hoping we fail so they can prove their point. I reckon when we scale through, theyd claim it was in spite of him ;(

Oh well!

the KDB sub came way too late for me, you could see Kev was blowing out of his arse and everything he touched was wayward. Silva's introduction ensured we were encamped outside their box. However you can sympathise cos Kevin can pull something out of nothing, but perhaps it was plain to see he was off his game last night.

thought the team setup was decent, Fernando was a good choice over delph as Fernando's total lack of ambition to go forward was exactly what the team needed in terms of balance.
You always give great players the benefit of the doubt. Besides, 20 minutes is enough time to make a difference.

That tactical change could've just as easily ended up in a defeat.

We murdered them 2nd half,a fresh pair of legs would have been the answer, there was no trouble at the back, our centre halves coped easily with Lukaku,so no danger of losing the game, but this daft twat of a manager of ours seemed as though we wern't to go and win it neither,he's really getting on my tits now

1 step forwards and then 2 steps back. He just doesn't learn.

The change in the summer can't come quick enough, he may win the quad but if we do, it will heavily be down to individual brilliance and not down to a team performance this team should be putting out.

Hope to god we win at least one honour in the next 5 months so pelle will go down as a legend but we need the next step up which just so happens to be the top table

If we win fuck all this season then he's going down as a chancer who won the league with the previous managers squad before slowly dismantling it. It's make or break how he goes down in history.

Can't really blame him for last night by far the better team bad refereeing and bad finishing! I'm actually happy with the form we've shown over the last 6 games maybe bar everton away

I'm amazed. Came away disgusted contemplating not going to the games because there was zero belief when so much was at stake.

And the 1st half? Took until the 50th minute to start playing and even then Aguero was on his own.

A lot of my mates have the same thoughts as you but I'm slightly sympathetic to him due to the shit storm he inherited from the previous regime. But we are now 3 years down the line and although playing slightly better football, we are no better.

Pep is the be all and end all now, he will have us playing great pressing football, high intensity, get the best out of most of them and give the youth a chance. Can't come quick enough for me, but we have the small matter of 4 trophies to go at between now and then. Come on players and management, sort your act up and leave this club as fucking winners

Everton had a couple of breakaways but didn't really threaten! They are a good team with good players so you have realise they are going to have the ball at times! But as a said to my friends walking out if we had not dominated most of the game and not created chances and not been cheated of the ref I'd be worried!

One of the most contradictory posts I've read in a long time im afraid mate.

What could he have done different last night to explain your one step forwards, two steps back comment?

If we win anything this year it will be in spite of him then you go on to say you hope he does so he can go as a legend?

If we won the quadruple which we wont imo, to suggest it wouldn't be down to team performances is frankly ridiculous it really is.

Look, i get that many on here dont like him and i can see why at times. he isnt engaging in the way Bob was who not only told that twat to fuck off and delivered the greatest spanking at old Trafford any of us has ever seen whilst also being on watch to see that banner come down and the words of the pisscan firmly rammed down his throat.

What he is though is a manager who has delivered a league and cup double to us as fans with hopefully more to come this year, his final year imo regardless of what he might or might not win, he has represented the club incredibly well. No dramas, no hysterics, no public fall outs and its what was needed.

I just dont get the doom and gloom and disrespect the man gets when for me, its completely unwarranted in the grand scheme of things and more so when you look at the position we are in.
