If we win fuck all this season then he's going down as a chancer who won the league with the previous managers squad before slowly dismantling it. It's make or break how he goes down in history.

He has dismantled nothing, nor built it. We dont work like that as a club any more and haven't for a while.

The only manager out of the last 3 to get to pick and choose his players will be Pep imo.

One of the most contradictory posts I've read in a long time im afraid mate.

What could he have done different last night to explain your one step forwards, two steps back comment?

If we win anything this year it will be in spite of him then you go on to say you hope he does so he can go as a legend?

If we won the quadruple which we wont imo, to suggest it wouldn't be down to team performances is frankly ridiculous it really is.

Look, i get that many on here dont like him and i can see why at times. he isnt engaging in the way Bob was who not only told that twat to fuck off and delivered the greatest spanking at old Trafford any of us has ever seen whilst also being on watch to see that banner come down and the words of the pisscan firmly rammed down his throat.

What he is though is a manager who has delivered a league and cup double to us as fans with hopefully more to come this year, his final year imo regardless of what he might or might not win, he has represented the club incredibly well. No dramas, no hysterics, no public fall outs and its what was needed.

I just dont get the doom and gloom and disrespect the man gets when for me, its completely unwarranted in the grand scheme of things and more so when you look at the position we are in.

Not just the mistakes from last night, this season has seen a catalogue of errors summed up by Fernandinho being injured because we have ran him into the ground asking him to cover for yaya when he can't be arsed.

On a scale of 1-10, how are we playing up to our ability? 4 for me, and IMO that is down to the management

He inherited a team. Some changes are now required but he wont make them.

And we wont be in this position for long. Players are sleep-walking away from the 2nd opportunity of a life-time. Maybe most fans are now happy having seen their team win titles and trophies and can die happy if we never win again. Me, I want to win every game, and I don't see the desire or a believable pattern of play. He needs to be ruthless and drop Toure for a start. Any Tom Dick or Harry could get more out of Silva and De Bruyne. Play them in a 5 in midfield if you have to without Toure with De Bruyne free in central midfield and Silva playing off Aguero. There are so many options but we are not going to change

I can't believe the coach doesnt have the latitude to drop a player and play with two forwards.

A lot of my mates have the same thoughts as you but I'm slightly sympathetic to him due to the shit storm he inherited from the previous regime. But we are now 3 years down the line and although playing slightly better football, we are no better.

Pep is the be all and end all now, he will have us playing great pressing football, high intensity, get the best out of most of them and give the youth a chance. Can't come quick enough for me, but we have the small matter of 4 trophies to go at between now and then. Come on players and management, sort your act up and leave this club as fucking winners
Seems we're all in limbo just waiting for him. And to hell with the last two years.

Again, what mistakes from last night?

Not being argumentative for the sake of it here but i just dont see what he did wrong last night to warrant your original comment.

As for running Fernandinho into the ground and being responsible for his injury? Sorry mate but thats sounds like grasping for yet another reason to have a go at him. I can well imagine a line up without Fernandinho and the apoplectic rage on here claiming he has lost his mind if he did rest him lol. He is in a lose lose position with some on here and cant do right for doing wrong.

Take Kalechi for instance last night whom i rate so highly btw, he will be a world class player for us no doubt but do you play him instead of Kun last night? Do you fuck yet we get the usual Pellegrini is an idiot posts for yep you guessed it, not playing Kalechi.

That side last night played well and did everything but score which fucks us off but it happens and if we go on to play like that for the rest of the season we will be more than ok.

We started the season very well and there have been intermittent good performances since. But we're not playing as well as we should, given the quality of the players we have. Injuries have been a factor but even then the players that have been playing should have been capable of more. We're still contention for 4 trophies but we're also underperforming.

Some of the blame must be down to the players, or at least some of them. But from the outside it doesn't seem that the manager is having a positive influence.

A similar group of players played 442 for a year under Pellegrini. Our best football was under Negredo and Aguero with many of his squad so of course they can do it

You could tell after 5 mins that the first half was gone and that comes from the manager.

If I was a mod I'd immediately ban you for making a sensible post, it jars the senses amongst all of the usual knee jerk posts.

And you can get +100 from me for the bolded part.

And we were using the excuse that Silva is injured. When he comes back we'll be OK. And now the manager is so good he figures De Bruyne and Silva can't play together.

It was really frustrating looking up at the scoreboard and seeing Arsenal losing at Liverpool and City just passing sideways with zero purpose.

Play like that and we will nothing
