Well your opinions certainly aren't based on any type of actual evidence.
As I say, a man that claims to know more about Youth development, player conditions and Premier League tactics than those employed by Manchester City should have a job somewhere in football. How much you know really is astounding.
I mean only you could have predicted Barker to have a better future in the game than Sane. If not mistaken the last disagreement I had with you was regarding these two. And me saying anyone who watched Sane play against our EDS was a clear step up from everyone else involved.
Much the same as Iheanacho was.
But no, Neville Neville knew more again.
I can't remember anything about you. But I have never said that about Barker.
And Sane played well in the game v us, just as some of our kids were equally a 'step up' from everyone else in other games during the same season, including Barker, who, at his best on some occasions, was far more impressive, specatacularly more impressive. Sane looked a player, & one of our better opponents that season. Not better as an opponent than Patrick Roberts or the kid from Liverpool we are after though. On par with them, in a much better team.
Several of our kids produced performances equally or more impressive during that season. I would remind you that City actually won that game. It wasn't a case of Sane running rings round us for 90 mins, he looked a talented player & had a couple of nice runs. It was absolutely nowhere near the best individual performance I saw during that season. Nor was it as good as one of Patrick Roberts performances this season, when he was regularly skinning 2,3 players like George Best. Now he is currently a shadow of that player after the miserable stagnation he has endured at City. Hopefully he can get his 'mojo' back.
What I said was, that Sane was rewarded for his performances, by being promoted to their first team, which has subsequently brought him on some distance compared to our kids, whilst NONE of our academy kids has had the same opportunity. It is quite impossible for any of them to keep pace with kids who are playing in a top league regularly & all of them are falling behind the best kids from other clubs.
Sane does not play with super intelligence in that league, at this stage, he runs & crosses & shoots, sometimes loses the ball, hangs on to it too long, misses obvious better passes, etc etc etc. All the stuff talented kids do when they get promoted, all of them.
The difference is, that their manager is happy to see & benefit from what he CAN do, rather than worry about what he can't. If he was at City under Pellegrini, he'd have spent 6 months stagnating then be loaned out to Div 1, because managers higher up don't trust him, because they have only ever seen him play, in reserve football, & then possibly come back lacking in confidence & wondering why the pass & move football he's been coached at City gets him dropped when he does it at Barnsley.
