Bravo Manuel, a point in their Cup Final is fine. Onwards and upwards;-)
Exactly this!
I was pleased with Pellegrini today. Shame it has taken so long for him to realise that there are occasions when that kind of display is appropriate. I can think of a few other games in the last few years where he should have done the same to be honest. I have no doubt if one of Silva or Aguero was fit today he would have gone for it a lot more and we would probably have won. But it is absolutely correct to change tactics to suit the situation.
I am well aware of that. I saw his Malaga team proper park the bus in at least one champions league match on their way to the semi final. But I'm not bothered what he did before he came to us, the fact is there have been several matches since he has been with us where we definitely haven't had the better team and he has chosen to just go for it. I wouldn't want us to play like today too often and we wouldn't need to anyway but just a little more pragmatism generally would do me to give us a bit more balance. I don't expect it will happen but pleased that he was cautious today.! Pellegrini understood about this kind of performance's value long before he arrived at City but as the interview quoted above and his actions to this point show, it is going to be the exception not thee rule while he is at MCFC. He chooses to approach most games on the basis that he has the better team and will beat them with attacking play. Given that very few teams we will face are more talented, we won't see many performances like today. I'd favour a bit more pragmatism but I amire his principles and ambition.
