Not panicking after one bad result.

But not winning the league this season would be even more inexcusable than letting one of the worst united teams ever win it under Mancini.

I don't think we will ever again have a season where the defending champions are out of contention by November .

It's not one bad result I wish people wouldn't use this phrase after every bad result

The idea that anyone's going to come in and tell Pellegrini anything at this point is frankly, both absurd and laughable. Think the emotion of the last 36 hours is getting to everyone. I've little doubt we'll have a new manager next summer, but i've also little doubt that this season is far from over and everything is still there to be played for.

For all the criticism he's taken, and for all the criticism i've given Pellegrini since Saturday evening, I'd back him over Wenger, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Klopp, and yes even Ranieri, to win the premier league this season.

Then no offence you are a raving loon, with the exception of wenger all the others would give us a better chance of the league this year

The worst thing for me is, I don't believe any other team or coach in the Premier League would have played into Klopp's hands so completely. Even Pardew beat him at Anfield and Palace didn't play negatively, just smart (Liverpool dominated but most of their shots were fluff with only 4 on target, because Palace didn't part like the Red Sea). Features of Klopp's teams are running, pressing, countering. Our system and style basically made Christmas come early for Klopp. If we had stuck with the United/Sevilla type formation, I can't say we would have won but as shown by the 2nd half (when we had Fernando/Fernandinho/Delph on and took the man repeatedly proven unable to cope with the hard press, Yaya Toure, off), which we lost 1-0, it wouldn't have been so comprehensive. Our first half setup was reminiscent of Garcia/Yaya vs. Gundogan/Bender a few years ago, where Klopp's midfield made Mancini's midfield look second rate and constantly forced them to pass back with their relentless pressure.

Three big games in 7 days will say a lot about where the season's going. For me, the biggest game is Saturday rather then the two cup games. Even if we crawl over the line for three points at 5 o'clock, regardless of other results, then my faith may be restored. Still not spoken to the Scouse wife since the match. Been a tough 36 hours.

The Saville game highlighted just how good city would be in that setup.
But here is the thing - most ordinary city fans realised that a year before. In fact city played brilliantly around Dec and again end season with a similar lineup.
But here is the thing - MP was forced into that formation by injury or risk of missing out top-4.

That's why I want MP gone. The problem is not just that his basic formation is naive and unworkable. The problem is is he I'd stubborn, and when he realises he needs to change he still won't. And more importantly he cares more about proving himself and his favoured, Yaya in a midfield two, everyone else far up the pitch formation "right" than what's best for city. In my mind that's unforgiveable.

If his supporters are even suggesting these type of measures then his time in any rational world is done, my one big fear is that the powers that be are just killing time waiting for guardiola and come the summer he doesn't come and pellegrini sneaks us the title

What do they do then?
If he wins the title ? Are you feeling ok?
Can't envisage having that nice problem.

Honestly?! With the exception of Ranieri, I'd back every one of those names to get more out of the current squad than Pellegrini at the moment

This I don't get you support the club, as do most on here, we want the best for the club, but you don't want a manager sacked that in your own words uses kamikaze tactics, I don't get the logic
Many have tried and failed miserably to understand my logic and failed miserably mate so don't unduly worry yourself about it! Lol :-)

My logic is based on if we were to sack Manuel now, who do we replace him with? Ancelotti has said he won't be available until next summer and Pep is still under contract at Bayern and hasn't confirmed his intentions either way, so for me the best option would be to continue with Manuel in spite of his Kamikaze tactics as I realistically don't know what else we can do right now which unfortunately isn't a ringing endorsement for him.

The one thing I would definitely do is get Txiki to get a grip of Manuel and remind him of our holistic intentions when Manuel first came here. From what I understand all our teams from the U9's to the EDS play in a certain way apart from the first team??? Is Txiki the man to lay down our club's stated philosophy and if he did, how would a seasoned managed react to being told this is how you will/must play?

I'd rather he went immediately if he's going. The team needs a signing or two in Jan and I'd rather a new man got the players he wanted.

He's clearly not the man for the job. He will get us a top 4 finish but with the setup and players at his disposal at the club he should be winning the league this season. Particularly with Chelsea being so far behind. The spine of this team are world class with mostly very good players around them,i think with better managerial appointments from the hierarchy we could be looking at 4 titles in 5 years. The obsession with Pep has gotten ridiculous,we have treaded water or gone backwards since 2012. It's unnacceptable.
