Selective memory is a wonderful thing, he is that good that even you question his tactics and believe he will be gone in the summer,

Don't think there's a manager who i've followed who's tactics i haven't questioned at some point. Guardiola tried to mark Barcelona man for man and get his arse handed to him on a plate. Nothing selective about questioning those tactics.

As for thinking he'll be gone in the summer, that's just me being realistic. One day every manager must leave us. Pellegrini's cycle will be up in the summer. I'm good with that, as I've never gotten so wrapped up in the cult of personality that I cannot imagine my life without a manager. ;)

I am waiting to see what he will do if all our players are fit, this guy will try and get yaya, silva, kdb, sterling all in one team away to Barcelona, he might even try and get nasri and bony in there at some point
If we have all our players fit, I've no doubt Kun and Bony will be up front with Silva on the left and KDB right with Yaya and one out of Fernando, Fernadinho or Delph alongside him.

It's a depressingly familiar tale unfortunately. Manuel has the bad habit of picking his best 11 players and trying to squeeze them into his preferred formation instead of picking the best 11 players to suit the formation he's chosen. Again its square pegs in round holes, it's rarely worked against the best teams and I've no doubt it will probably fail again. The question is will he ever learn?

The idea that anyone's going to come in and tell Pellegrini anything at this point is frankly, both absurd and laughable. Think the emotion of the last 36 hours is getting to everyone. I've little doubt we'll have a new manager next summer, but i've also little doubt that this season is far from over and everything is still there to be played for.

For all the criticism he's taken, and for all the criticism i've given Pellegrini since Saturday evening, I'd back him over Wenger, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Klopp, and yes even Ranieri, to win the premier league this season.

We don't often disagree but I do on the point about telling Pellegrini something. I don't think he does not for one moment understand what went wrong and his part in it. He knows bloody well the risks he takes in pursuit of winning in style etc but perhaps the powers that be need to reflect a bit on this year and accept that we prioritise results over entertainment upon occasion and brief the manager accordingly. We have a Director of Football and he may need to give some additional direction. It really is not a radical concept that directors of any organisation should give guidance to their staff on corrective action. no one is ever too old or senior to learn or be given advice.

He has one way of playing and can not adapt to situations on the pitch. He reminds me a lot of wenger stubborn .

There are very similar, Arsenal had some great teams with a defence originally inherited, always had power and pace in his team then decided having the same 5 foot 6 midfielders throughout the team ala Barcelona was the way to go, it hasn't worked but he will keep at it year after year, very stubborn indeed

Yeah you know he's going to pick that team at one point, we have to hope for injuries to force him to pick the right team, sad state of affairs

He's not lot lost the dressing room or anything like that as such, it's more his stubborn tactics that never seem to come off in the bigger games and baffling player rotation that baffles me at times with MP.

I doubt the players have too much confidence in him after another shambolic tactical display. He may not have lost the dressing room but if he continues making the same mistakes it won't be too much longer.

pellegrinis stubbornness and arrogance are his down fall, as we all say no one but him thinks yaya can play in that position against decent opposition, time after time he gets it wrong in big games and the results against teams around in the league are starting to worry me. injuries force him into playing fernandinho and Fernando but the team they play in give us our best results eg roma and sevilla
we cannot keep being over run in midfield in big games and yet we also struggle to break down teams like at villa recently that everton have just ripped apart. Liverpool over ran us at anfield in march but he still didn't learn this weekend and that's the point he never learns from mistakes, unfortunately he is tactically niave
this squad is the best in the league by a country mile and any decent manager would have us top by 8 points at least, we have top class players now and we now need a top class manager to dominate domestically for years to come
Liverpool have sacked a manager this season for being poor yet they are now only 6 points behind us
im sorry but a change is needed and fast
on his plus side we are great to watch most of the time

Bwahahahahahahahaha. Too true mate, too true. :-)

The sad thing is though, other managers have sussed this too and the prevailing results have become all too predictable. Just relying on the fact you have better players in the modern game is just sheer lunacy. Somewhere along the line tactics and legislating for what the opposition are likely to do has to come into the thinking of the modern manager, sadly Manuel has shown a complete lack of understanding where this is concerned from day one and winning the double in his first season only sought to mask this.

If you look back and analyse that season, all the warning signs were already there, but those who pointed it out were shot down in orchestrated attacks and branded Manuel outters and Mancini hankerers and not given credit for being able to see beyond the swashbuckling displays. Well I tell you what, other managers saw what some fans saw and legislated for it and last season at one point it looked like we might pay the price of losing a top 4 place because of it.

Thankfully 4231 came along in the final 6 games and bailed us out.
