pellegrinis stubbornness and arrogance are his down fall, as we all say no one but him thinks yaya can play in that position against decent opposition, time after time he gets it wrong in big games and the results against teams around in the league are starting to worry me. injuries force him into playing fernandinho and Fernando but the team they play in give us our best results eg roma and sevilla
we cannot keep being over run in midfield in big games and yet we also struggle to break down teams like at villa recently that everton have just ripped apart. Liverpool over ran us at anfield in march but he still didn't learn this weekend and that's the point he never learns from mistakes, unfortunately he is tactically niave
this squad is the best in the league by a country mile and any decent manager would have us top by 8 points at least, we have top class players now and we now need a top class manager to dominate domestically for years to come
Liverpool have sacked a manager this season for being poor yet they are now only 6 points behind us
im sorry but a change is needed and fast
on his plus side we are great to watch most of the time

I agree it's never dull but to win the league we need far more balance in the way we play and set up. I would honestly sack him and would have done at the end of last season anyway. He is nowhere near good enough and is wasting a golden generation of players we have.

Poor selection, tactically naive, refuses to learn from his mistakes.
We're relying on talent at the moment to carry us.

He desperately clung onto his job off of the back of the players going on a run of games at the end of last season which was spurned on by an annoyance of losing to United which in turn was down to Manuel's decisions. He is an absolute fraud who is too stubborn for his own good which puts the club in jeopardy. The sooner he gets thrown out of the club the better. Only then, once Manuel is sat on the kerb waiting for a taxi, will we be able to kick on as an elite football club.

An absolute dinosaur stuck in his stubborn ways.

It was a huge error of judgement by the hierarchy to keep him on. We are stuck with him until the summer unfortunately, the players will steer us to a top 4 finish but he will be detrimental for our title assault. His never ending tactical and selection errors will see to that.

And why were Sevilla gash?

In our home leg they were well organised and restricted our play. In our return game they were very similar to us on Saturday totally unbalanced allowing us to play at will through them. Fuck me they even made Bony look good.

But that might have also helped with the one formation we have played that actually works for us. But why stick with that we might as well change it.

The thing is it wouldn't surprise me if we won it, all the other contenders have pretty big problems of their own and we have the best set of players by quite some distance, it would take a pretty incompetent manager to lose us the title

Well from a 5/5 start with no goals conceded to 3 wins in 8 with 13 goals conceded, he is having a good try.

As for the best set of players. Take Silva, Aguero and Kompany out and what we have is a decent set of players but with few leadership qualities and ones who go missing when the going gets a bit tough. We lacked the desire to find the win at Villa, we had no leadership at all Saturday. The substitution to make for me was Zabaleta to come on at half time, fire up the players and the crowd with his 100% effort at all times and take it from there, especially knowing that effectively we had 20 mins to score before Kun was going to be withdrawn. Once he went off it was total game over.

We don't often disagree but I do on the point about telling Pellegrini something. I don't think he does not for one moment understand what went wrong and his part in it. He knows bloody well the risks he takes in pursuit of winning in style etc but perhaps the powers that be need to reflect a bit on this year and accept that we prioritise results over entertainment upon occasion and brief the manager accordingly. We have a Director of Football and he may need to give some additional direction. It really is not a radical concept that directors of any organisation should give guidance to their staff on corrective action. no one is ever too old or senior to learn or be given advice.

I think priorities were at play, just maybe not the ones we'd like to hear.

Genuine question, had we been playing Boro in the carling cup on Wed night d'you think he'd have picked the same team because I don't. I think the risk would've been run with Otamendi and Fernandinho on the basis that they would get a rest mid week. What grates is that Delph didn't get a start when his performance when he came on showed he's ready to start.

I wouldn't be surprised if he started against Juve. For me, in place of Yaya.

I'm probably one of Toure's biggest fans, but i totally agree with that. Mind you I don't think Pellegrini will. If anything I suspect his substitution at half time was as much about 'saving' him for Juve as it was about his abortion of a performance in the first half.
