Thinking that the has signed a pre-contract agreement for the summer already, cos The Scum wouldn't rul,e him out even if Van Seagull was doing a great job over there, so makes me think that the manager for next season is already set.

So getting rid of Pellegrini now, will need a 'interim' or 'caretaker' to replace him til the summer ... if Vieira was here maybe .... but there is no one better than Pellegrini to come in and change things for 6 months.

So its probably best to stick with him and hope he wins something and finishes in thw top 3 minimum. Thank him for his time and welcome the new man in the summer.

Certainly he deserves thanks and our best wishes but our side need a new voice now even if our next manager for next year is set in stone.

It may not be someone " better" but someone who can wake up the players from their collective slumber.

Some probably know they are surplus to requirements and lack the drive required but might see a new face as new hope.

They need a new voice now.

Hopefully we will see Chumps League again next season but we certainly need a player overhaul.

yeah .. when i said 'better' .... i meant the likes of Ancelotti or etc wont come in to be an caretaker would they? Vieira would have been an in house promotion as he has the respect of the all the players even though he hasnt got the experience of Pellegrini.

But there is no one out there, that is avaiilable that is better or on the same par as Pellegrini.

I'm no fan of Pellegrini, shouldn't have been here after last season IMO, but currently, in this position if the next boss is indeed lined up for the summer, , we just have to grin and bear it with Pellegrini 'til then unfortunately.

If .... IF .... Guardiola hasnt signed a pre-contract then yeah .... get Ancelotti in asap.

Why on earth would we sack a manager in December when we're 3rd in the league 3 points off the top. What an utterly stupid and bizarre thread. And anyway, anyone who's paying any attention to the people who actually run the club will know that they're not going to sack Pellegrini mid season full stop.

Not sure on any level why anyone would even think that would be a good thing. Capello as an interim ? Or Brenda ? Someone suggested making Vinny player/manager for the rest of the season ?

This is Pellegrini's last season in charge. At the end of it we're getting the best manager in the world. Maybe even the best player in the world at the same time. We're in good hands and all the panicking and knee jerk crying like babies is proper embarrassing.

No - I wouldn't sack him - now he is still in with a shout of winning 4 trophies - he needs the players pulling their fingers out and getting on with the job in hand and some luck with the injuries.

He could not have picked a different side on Saturday - they players were absolutely gash - we need a natural leader on the pitch and Vinny aside I don't see one. Get the cheque book out in January and bring somebody in to shake the dressing room and bring leadership onto the pitch -

MP will win us some trophies this year - not sure how many yet but my sense say we wil!!!

I'm still behind the gaffer - frustrated I was with the Liverpool game but Saturday was the numpties on the pitch -

Unless something drastic happens, we won't be sacking him.

However, we aren't playing well. We started the season on fire, but apart from then, good games haven't been commonplace.

To not score in 4 consecutive away games is poor, given the attacking talent at our disposal.

Stoke cut us open at will at times, where as we just couldn't break them down. I know we have injuries, but I'd still argue that we were better than them player for player (except, perhaps, MDM).

This is now the 4th time we have lost in the league, and the 3rd time it's been pretty comfortable. The 2 seasons we won, we lost 5, and 6. It is difficult, because we have had injuries, but the team we put out should be doing better - and Saturday was a dismal performance.

He won't be going anywhere, but he's losing the support of the fans, which is a shame. The substitution of Dinho showed that, whether you agreed with it or not.

Capello, Brenda, or Kompany as interim managers are all ludicrous ideas.

'The ability to knit together the academy and the first team to work together using the same footballing concepts is key to our success and sustainability'

Quote from Txiki.

This was talking about Simon Davies, who will take over Viera in January. I think it highlights that Manuel isn't responsible for the way we play. I think he is responsible for picking players and for motivating the first team to play in the way the club wants to from the academy up.

I don't think we look at other teams and think 'how do we stop them', it's more how will they 'stop us'. This is going to be a long process, and I think Manuel isn't getting the team playing the 'brand' correctly right now.

I can see why they are going after Pep. He knows this system better than anybody.

Nail on the head mate.

Unfortunately we still have fans that refuse to accept the above.

The grand slam still on .
But i wouldn't be too confident we will Win any trophy .
Pellergrini could easily go this month .

Of course they won't sack him now but how many defeats like Stoke and Liverpool does it require before the trajectory is sufficiently poor to require some sort of action?
