What a tired cliche. It's posts like this that demonstrate zero sense of perspective.
right. Because I do not freak out when we have a bad run of form which is at a time with us not having, or just getting back, three of our most important players plus many other injuries.

Is it really a cliche? It seems closer to reality.

I didn't disagree with the Denayer decision to be honest at the time. Kompany and Mangala started the season very well and once Otamendi had signed it seemed like Denayer wasn't going to get much game time, so loaning him out for experience appeared best for everybody. With the injuries we've had though, it would have been better to have kept Denayer in the squad and let Demichelis go as he would have got quite a bit of game time with us.

Once we had signed Otamemdi you are correct we had no choice but to loan Denayer.

What was wrong was we inferred he would get game time and then signed Otamendi for a huge fee pushing Denayer further down the pecking order.

If Pellers had shown a bit of faith in a Belgium International to be 3rd or 4th choice we could have used that money to strengthen elsewhere.

Instead we have alienated one of our top prospects, sent a negative signal to other youngsters aspiring to make the first team and not addressed other more pressing failures in the squad

Denayer's playing regular football and I would have thought he'd be back with us next season as one of our 4 CBs with a new manager (probably) and a fresh start, so I would hope there wouldn't be any bad feelings on his part. Then it's up to him to impress the new guy and force his way into the first team.

Not wanting to open a new can of worms but I'm not sure how much input Pellegrini has in these decisions to be honest. I seem to remember him thinking we'd loaned one of the EDS lads out only to find out that he had actually been sold.

I understood (not sure where I seen it) that Valencia didn't have the money to settle the Negrado transfer so we were offered a take it or leave with Otamendi.
Hence the change of plan with Denayer.
Anyone else hear this or have I got it wrong?

I'm 42, old skool and have supported us for over 35 years, not that it gives me a badge of honour or makes me better than anybody else on here but I refuse to throw the toys out of the pram over a game, a manager or a result.
As like a lot of posters on here I've seen some dross, some proper cranks playing for us who was bobbins and visited some shitholes just to see us play.
Yes we've gone backwards in the last 18 months but I can't find it in me to get annoyed. Maybe I've commented on pellers after a defeat and said thanks for the memories but if I'm brutally honest with you pal I really deep down couldn't care less if we have pellers, pep or Peppa pig as manager. City are in my heart and my blood and I'll watch us in Madrid or Macclesfield . What's gone off the field...fantastic.
What's happened in the last 7 years...amazing.
Pellers winning two trophies in his first year was a great achievement and we should have kicked on but we didn't. We may have a lull for a couple of years whilst we regroup and clear the decks but the vitriol and anger shown by some over our current manager needs to be wound in ever so slightly.
Let's get behind audrey for the now as the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Totally agree, as should ALL proper fans! That said, we've always had a section of whingers! Audrey... haha!

And maybe my choice of language with you was immature. I wouldn't speak like that to you in a pub so I'll hold my hands up and apologise for that.
It's city mate, it draws the worst out of you half the time.

Totally agree! No worries. Well next time I'm home for a game I might catch you at the pub and you can have a pint on me! Haha!

It's bloody stressful sometimes but it's not half a fun ride!

There is a fourth way , inner and if he wins trophies ( as a minimum the Prem) ,in till the end of his contract.
Whatever Manuel does this season mate, the feeling I'm getting is there'll be better managers available come the summer and if that's the case, I think he'll be relieved of his first team duties and his final year paid up.
