I cannot see Pellegrini leaving before the end of the season. He has come in for criticism but we are still in all four competitions. He will be judged by results at the end of the season, same as Mourinho.

Injuries have played a part but I think there are number of players who know they will be on their way regardless of whether Pellegrini stays or goes. Maybe they are no longer good enough or motivated as much as before. Maybe they are carrying injuries or fatigued from so many games. It is not so much the number of injuries but that all our key star players have been out.

It does not make the performance against Stoke acceptable but who ever came in would face the same problem. Players must take their share of the blame. Plans will aready be in place for next season. Didnt KdB say negotiations to move to City started mid season? However frustrating, all we can do as supporters is get behind the manager and team.

Though we should be several points clear at the top of the table, we are three points off top, into the semis of the league cup and through to the CL knockouts. Got to take things how they are.

My concern is that our run in is tough, by far the hardest and we could do with a cushion. On a positive note, we have a team that has won it against all odds twice before and has the experience to do it again. We also have more quality to see it through than our competition.

If we can keep our key players fit then we should be okay. With only Fernandinho remaining fit for any length of time so far we are weak in the central midfield and that's exactly what we thought might happen.

Good point. Guess it's just an easy thing to call someone if you disagree with them. It enables you to belittle them, and their opinion in one!

There was, as you say, serious doubts raised towards the end of last season, especially after the united game.

Another favourite of mine is when we lose for the 6th time this season and someone replies "all this moaning about sacking the manager just cos we lost a game!"

Yaya is a major issue. When he plays we complain about him, and when he doesn't it looks like we miss him.

We needed a top class midfield replacement in the summer, and we didn't get it. I really like Delph - he adds a lot, and has more quality than people give him credit for, but he isn't top class. Replacing Yaya is a real issue.

Not the right thread for that comment though, I know.

While Pellegrini frustrates me at times with odd team selection / tactics etc, he epitomises what Manchester City are trying to portray off the field in being Calm / Collected and to coin the phrase Holistic Approach. In the business world - they are some of the most important qualities so as to ensure you dont have knee jerk reactions to something.

At the weekend, Yes we lost a game. in the grand scheme of things, has it hurt us much? we are still near the top, we can still win the league. We've lost games in the past few seasons. We won 2 league titles and finished second twice as well...Is that failure from where we were 5/6 years ago?

If we lose on Tuesday, has it hurt us? Some will argue it might because we finish second and face a harder draw. But if we want to win it, we have to beat everyone to get there anyway. In the business world, we get no more money for finishing top of the group than we do for second...

I cant see there being any knee jerk reactions because that isnt the club we claim to be. Pellegrini will be here at least until the end of the season.

Thanks mate. I've not got the head space for the idiotic.

You still haven't answered either question and continue with your internet hard man routine. I bet you're quiet as a mouse in real life and never kicked a ball in anger. Yet on here you pontificate as if you invented football, dine with sheik and have a trophy cabinet bigger than viera's.

We can't assume pep is coming as you seem to be and so sitting back while mp flounders is absurd. On current form we will lose in knock out stages of champs league. Lose to Everton and still have some very tough away games in the league. Nothing about mp suggests he can turn that form around especially if our stars aren't fit. What we need is a manager who can do that.

I can't see us sacking Pellegrini until the end of season. At what cost no one knows.

I do know that I wanted rid of him after the derby capitulation last April. I was wrong then as we won 6 straight to finish 2nd.

I wanted rid as we had a number of shambolic performances, Burnley, Palace, United, Liverpool, CSKA, West Ham and to an extent Barca. Last season we have fat Sam gloating about knowing how to play us.

This season those awful performances have been joined by Stoke, Juve away, Liverpool, Spurs. We got results away to Borussia and home to Sevilla despite ourselves.

The number of poor performance is growing this season. We have either been figured out or some of our players are surviving on reputation.

Again we have players from Stoke saying they knew how to play us. It seems if the opposition pack the midfield and prepare to play on the counter, they have a chance. We shouldn't be an easy team to figure out but we have been. We should never capitulate and yet we have, 3 teams this year we've conceded 4 and if Stoke finished their chances it would've been a hammering.

The first thing Pellegrini should be doing is set us up better, make us more difficult to play through. When we had our run in November and December last season we played 3 in the middle most of the time. We should be doing that for the foreseeable and cherry pick between KdB, Silva, Sterling and occasionally Navas with choice of Kun, Kelechi and Bony.

The worst thing is there seems to be no learning, we start playing then well Pellegrini forgets all the previous evidence and starts two in the middle and we falter. This is is why we go on so many streaks. Lose a few, we tighten up, get a bit more solid get some form, win a few on the bounce, Pellegrini gets cocky and we end up with 2 in the middle in a tough match and get over run and we lose confidence.

Zero point in sacking now. He'll be motivated to go out on a high and I'm sure we'll have silverware this season. But he has to get more animated, when players are a bit tired just like anyone they need motivating, pumping up and though that doesn't come naturally to him, he needs to find a way. Just sending them out hoping they'll be on it today is not good enough
