Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

I am personally quite confused about Pellegrini, and not sure at all about what to do. This season's games in Sevilla and against the Rags I thought, showed that he was learning tactically, and was prepared to adapt. Then we get Liverpool and Stoke, where all the lessons from Sevilla are completely gone, and worse, it looks like the players aren't even trying. The latter is probably the worst, well for me it is, and I have had this impression regularly since the beginning of last season.
But as I have said earlier in this thread, firing a manager only makes sense if there is someone better available. There might be, but if Pep is coming next summer, and I think all indicators on this forum points in this direction, it will not be easy finding someone to take the job for half a year.

The answer might be in your early sentence. Maybe the players are only sometimes learning how to adapt. Would you accept that as possible? If so could you please pass it on.

The last 2 years and this one so far.

City; Manuel PL x 1 LC x 1 2nd x 1 Currently 3rd.
Chelsea; Jose PL x 1 LC x 1 3rd x 1 Currently 14th.
Ars; Arsene PL x 0 FA x 2 4th x 2 Currently 2nd.
Utd; LVG PL x 0 Cups x 0 4th x 1 Currently 4th.
Moyes PL x 0 Cups x 0 7th x 1 sacked.
Liv; Rodgers PL x 0 Cups x 0 2nd x 1 sacked.
Klopp to soon to mark.

Can somebody explain why City want their manager sacked? Or is it a few trigger happy fans trying to rock the boat mid season. Im very unhappy when City lose but I think some perspective is needed.

I'll tell you why I want him sacked. The players are woefully under performing for him. He is tactically inept, even getting destroyed by hughes above all people. He can't seem to motivate the players at all. He has hardly ever changed a game, either with a tactical switch or a substitution. Makes the same mistakes over and over again. This shit about being 3rd and involved in all these competitions hold no weight for me. Any manager, and I mean any manager would have at least did as well and most would have us 6 points clear at this stage. 2 points out of 12 in our last 4 on the road and an absolute hammering at home to the dippers for good measure.I am nearly 50, defeats I am well used to, however the manner of defeats under pellegrini are really hard to take.

Can you explain why you morphed 2 different quotes into the same comment to distort my opinion while leaving out other comments of mine to make your point look more convincing?
I omitted your answers to your own questions as it was very schizophrenic of you and weirded me out somewhat.

Now I'd appreciate an answer to my question if you wouldn't mind.

You say any other manager mate but I've just quoted every managers stats in the PL and we have the best one. So where is the problem? It seems like fans want us 10 points clear all the time and winning every trophy and top of CL group etc etc. Where do all the other teams come into the equation? We cant buy 500 players so that every other team is crap. Even then that wouldn't work as the players playing at other clubs would improve over time. Their is a great little saying regarding Manchester City and its fans..'keep the faith'.

rewatching the title presentation vs west ham 13-14 and i never remembered seeing pellegrini jump up and down celebrating when vinnie lifted the trophy? thought he was just stood in the background but no haha, Those were the days ;-) :/

Every other manager isn't working with the outstanding bunch of players Pellegrini has at his disposal. He's moaning about injuries and fixture pile up. He has had quite a few windows to address this problem so that when Kompany,Silva,Aguero,Yaya are missing we have someone to step in who can at least perform to a decent level, not the absolute dross he has landed on city.

If the players are so outstanding why are they not performing like they should? Would you agree some of their wages could be handed back to the fans till they play as they are supposed to?

Just curious mate. There are many many posters wanting rid of certain players as they are deemed "not to be good enough", Willy, Bony, Fernando, Kolorov, Clichy, Navas to name a few. That view seems to be totally indeependent of how Pellers sets us up i.e. the player isn't simply good enough. Is this list of "outstanding bunch of players" not as big as we would hope? Gen question btw.
