Someone mentioned the word improvement a few posts ago and that's one thing we most certainly have not done under MP. That says it all really. The writings on the wall.

Agreed he should have been moved on in the summer as should some of the players we still have as well.

The point regarding money was directed mainly at the defence. When we have piled in as much money as we have into that position, and still rely on kompany, it's very disappointing.

Who knows how this season will turn out, but at the moment it looks like the players have switched off, and we will trundle on until we get Pep. I think there have been more poor performances than good, since the first 5 games.

The root of the issue is that we haven't replaced Lescott defensively. Mangala might be a better athlete and have some attributes which are much better than Lescott's, but overall Joleon was a much better defender. Now with Vinny's injury issues it has meant that we are having to bed in another new centre half whilst having him play alongside one who seems to be struggling to deal with the pressure of playing in the PL and simply isn't adapting. The upshot is that we are conceding really really fucking cheap goals. People keep lambasting Pellegrini for this, but personally I'm just not seeing it. His current problem and the one which he should be worried about, is that our attackers are struggling and we're not creating enough. Even with Silva in the side.

The defending has looked nowhere near as solid since the day he arrived. We then got rid of defensive players because they supposedly couldn't operate in pellegrini's system, we got players in who presumably were targeted because they would suit his style of defending and the defending has actually got worse. Of course none of this is pellegrini's fault, it's just a coincidence that the defending has got worse and worse since the day he arrived.

I always think the sign of a good coach is his backline and motivation.
There's so much involved from marking, set-pieces, how high they play, how unified are they when they move.

Magical players will always have the potential to do something special but the defence always has to play as a unit and as a team.

When you look at Mancinis team his defence and motivation was top-class. Players ended up not liking him because he forced them to get results but that's another story.

When you look at what MP has done to us - and the players, it truly is shocking.
We look like a Sunday 11 side.

He settled the squad down with his damp squid attitude after Bobbys aggression and maybe it was needed - hence MP first decent title - when to be fair he tried to throw the title away then as well.
But we have steadily declined and so have the players.

You only need to look at KDB. When he got here he was full of passion and desire. He was immense but it's slowly been killed and now along with most of the squad he's struggling.

Whoever comes in the summer - hopefully Pep - needs to have the balls to drop Yaya too.

Much nearer the mark then some of the pro Pellegrini stuff that is just being endlessly recycled.

Getting worryingly like last March/April no one is in any type of form that would start us piecing together a run. Each week we miss opportunities to take control of the league and the longer it goes on the likelihood of us winning the league gets less.

It's frustrating with the money that's been spent we are not seeing the fruits of it on the pitch. What's the plan for away games? You know once we go behind the game is done. I hope we can finish top four and start a fresh with a new manager next summer who won't except the lack of work rate with out the ball.

There aren't many in the pro Pellegrini camp anymore, mate. Mostly just a resignation that he's here for the rest of the season and let's deal with it as best we can.
