Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

In that process we have been easily outplayed by the likes of Stoke, Liverpool, Spurs and even Arsenal. All of them sides had chances to or did put at least 4 past us. Then you look at the games like Norwich, Swansea and Crystal Palace where we only just managed to scrape a win past them.

I think we have not been outplayed. We might have been outscored, but when you consider the possession we have had even in those games, we haven't been outplayed!

So you're arguing your point (based on belief) vs mine (based on current form)?

Im arguing with you because you are a fucking drama queen, admittedly not alone but a fucking drama queen non the less.

I dont like the disrespectful tone you take when discussing the manager, in fact it makes you sound like a child.

You appear to revel in our recent problems on the pitch as if it somehow justifies your own self important opinions and its fucking annoys the shit out of me.

So yes, i have belief in this squad and this manager to deliver like they have before and recent history has shown that we have come back from far worse positions than we find ourselves in right now.

I couldn't give a shit about possession stats to be honest. If that's the case United can consider themselves to be unlucky not to be running away with the league title.

A much better indicator of a match is how many clear cut chances you create. In all of them games we created very little clear chances and conceded far too many.

I look forward to us finishing the season off in style and reminding you of such a ridiculous, short sighted post.

sorry mate all of us want pelligrini and city to win here. just some of us believe what they see with our own eyes rather than have blind faith. he struggles to see that yaya`s lack of defensive tracking is causing our defense to be ripped to shreds too frequently even against good, average and poor opposition alike. playing delph on the left instead of cdm was a fundamental mistake. yaya can be brilliant going forward but defensively he`s a liability which was proved in spades last night

Im not deflecting it mate, just making the point that we are in the process of developing our style of play and he is adamant that it will take time.

That said and i actually agree with him, i cant forgive players just not doing the basics and I wont accept a manager who continually picks those players either.

"In the process of developing our style of play?" This is his 3rd season in charge! How long does it take?! I agree some of the midfield players are almost criminally negligent from a defensive point of view, but at some point Pellegrini needs to stop indulging the culprits and drop them, and leave the current philosophy to one side, cos it plainly isn't working

That's a really good post. I particularly agree with the last paragraph. Pellegrini needs to revert to what he knows best and stop trying to second guess himself. The examples of how to set up, as you point out, are there for him to look at from this season.

That's the worrying thing though.

Pellegrini will not be here next season so he has no reason whatsoever to be loyal to the players. If that means upsetting the applecart and dropping Silva, Yaya or Aguero then so be it.

If you see my comments pre-match you will see that I am not revelling in this slump. Every match it's a clean slate and I post my predictions and wants, hoping Manuel gets it right.

Unfortunately too often he makes absurd decisions which leave him open to criticism, and rightly so - he is not doing the job that is asked!

What I find strange is those willing him on. It's yet another season where we're bumbling along with no real purpose. Our defence is a shambles, the decision making is poor.

The next manager coming in needs a complete revamp, and yet you want us to show faith in a man who has been a detriment to the club? We have regressed so much under him that it is quite frankly laughable that people still want us to show faith.

What is he going to be remembered for? Winning the league with Mancini's squad, being left behind by Chelsea, ruining our defence, and having lost 5 games prior to Christmas - whic no team has done and then gone on to win the league!

The man is a fraud, I can not understand any remaining support that he has.

He has a philosophy which he says he is not gonna change! That's ok, but his philosophy is one which, no matter how attractive it might seem on paper and in the press conference, doesn't maximise points per game. Teams win titles because they screw the maximum number of points they can. Playing free-flowing football that is a treat to the eye, is the by-product. Mancini did that, Mourinho, upto this season when the players were with him, did that, the GPC did that. Pellers hasn't got it in him to set up a side that goes to the Emirates, dampens and clamps everything down, and goes home with what he came with - a 0-0! When you play your rivals, you give 'em nowt. Mancini was pilloried by the RagDipperMeedya after that game, but a fuckin' point at The Emirates that strangled free-flowing footy was the crime of the season according to those arses who wanted an Arse win. Pick out the competitors and on their own ground grind out a point, the bare minimum.
