Perhaps people want Klopp because he comes across as a bit crazy, and City as a football club is also a bit crazy.

A crazy manager for a crazy football club, what could possibly go wrong !

On Klopps footballing style whats to say he wouldn't want to play a more possession based game, I imagine it would have been quite difficult to at dortmund as they kept losing their best players every season.

On what would happen to the likes of Silva, he had Kagawa as an important member of his team for a while didn't he? a similar sort of player, So I wouldn't be that worried.

Honestly though pretty much anyone is better that Pellegrini.

I'd love Klopp or Pep and Ancelotti, but I don't really get this anyone but Pellegrini, for me apart from about 5 or 6 options Sticking with him and a much improved squad wouldn't worry me.
See more and more I think the same. If we are having a clear out and players who would suit his/Txikis system are being brought in,unless their top of the list is available, I wouldn't have a stop gap..whoever it is.

Get Klopp and let him do whatever transfer business he desires, let him rebuild our lacklustre team.......it may be a short term pain scenario.......but ultimately he wouldn't disappoint IMO.

Would love Klopp, great personality, and a great ambassador for the club. Passionate about everything he does, always congratulates the players.

Now,

- Not sure he would fit with the Spanish duo
- Not enough autonomy over playing style and transfers for Klopp
- Some great players like Silva, Nasri, Yaya, would become almost obsolete. Kun might need to move to no. 10 role (maybe not a bad thing)
- Perhaps not politically savvy enough, might say things that those from point #1 might not like

But man, it would be one hell of a ride, and certainly would connect with the fans and media better than this fine anaemic gentleman with bloodshot eyes.

I agree and after the fallout from Sunday and Klopp excitement I'm coming round to the idea that it's also how the club is thinking too. If Pep is their plan, and I'm not saying it is- or whether it should be, it's a plan that includes everyone from the owner down to Txiki, which means it's a plan that's been in place for a while and it would also involve the players signed this summer and next, being bought with that plan in mind, so they would have to think very seriously about a change of plan, and I think they are the sort of people to hold their nerve and stick with Pellegrini to work with the players bought with Guardiola in mind.

It's the cult of the personality that makes me uncertain that Klopp is the right man for the job.

I suppose that'd cast similar doubts on Pep too.

In all honesty I'm not unconvinced Ancelotti is the best option - he's arguably the best at working with what he's got.

Plus what was the score last time Pep faced Carlo?

I like the idea of him, and would prefer him to Pellegrini, but you're right, people are largely buying into an image of him - educated, but maverick, passionate and thought provoking. They're attributes most fans like.
Fans are also buying to the notion that if you get Pep, you get a taste of Barca, and if you get Klopp, you get a taste of Dortmund. I think people probably let their imagines run overboard with those thoughts.

Both Ancelotti and Guardiola have proven they can handle big egos for a sustained period at an 'elite club'. As I keep saying pre takeover Klopp would be ideal. Not now, especially when Dortmund are languishing in mid table and have crashed out of the Champions League at the same time as City.

Must admit I was on the Klopp bandwagon for a couple of days , but have gradually found myself returning to the Guardiola one.

Klopp's reputation won't be harmed much by this season, won back to back titles on a small budget and got to a UCL final. Dortmund have had bad luck with injuries this season and have under performed as well. Their recent signings haven't been good enough, Immobile, Kagawa, Ramos & Mkhitaryan mainly.

I can't see any big club bringing Klopp in, not sure he'd suit Barca's style or Real Madrid's way of splashing out on a few new players every season.
