Samuel is spot on. Waiting for pep makes us seem desperate and as he says no guarantees. Klopp if approached now would be coming on our terms and would be making a statement he wanted to be here.

I hope people aren't setting themselves up for disappointment regarding Klopp. I really think Pellegrini will still be here next season. Pellegrini seems quite calm about his position and the only one's linking Klopp to City is the fans really. The more time that passes I believe we will back the manager and get rid of some players.

Agreed. The fickle fan sees a new shiny manager becoming available and thinks this is the new beginning. I wouldn't be upset seeing him here again next year on the basis that he has a huge input as to who is shipped out and who is brought in player wise.

The reality is, under the constraints of FFP he has secured silverware and progressed in Europe.

This season, for whatever reason (and we don't know for sure), the team has stuttered. I appotion that 70% player attitude and 30% manager fault (which there may be some argument, his errors were caused by player uncertainty).

Next year, we could have a fully motivated team that has been augmented with good signings. Maybe, better the devil you know.

Whoever is in charge next season has my full support and if it's not Pe;;ers, we should remember him with the positive contributions he has made.

A good read, but I still don't think Klopp is our man for me Frank D B

FDB is my first choice and klopp is my second choice but right now klopp is available so we should try our best to get him. If he doesn't want to come to us then we should get FDB

Going to take a different tack with this now.

Klopp now being reported was turned down by Txiki in 2013. If so can't see him wanting to come to us.

Ancelotti is a close friend of Mancini's and as such probably would not want to work for the people who sacked his mate and fellow countryman.

That leaves three.

Benitez is Spanish and that counts a lot for our dynamic duo. He also has a house in the area and wants to be back in the PL.

Guardiola also spanish and maybe more important catalan may be available sooner than anyone thinks.

Sabella apparently waiting on us. Not spanish but as we know the dynamic duo like their south americans.

Personally think if Bayern sack Pep he'll flounce of into temporary retirement. I get the feeling unlike some others he'd be quite happy not being a football manager.

The way Bodgers is going Benitez could rock up at Anfield.

Which leaves us with a choice of sticking with one ageing latino or replacing him with another.

Klopp turned Txiki down. He wasn't about to leave a firing Dortmund team.

If I were a betting man, though, and as things stand prior to Bayern's game tomorrow night, I would reckon this summer could still work out something like this.

Pep to us. Klopp to Madrid, Ancelotti to Bayern or back to Paris.

Klopp would still be in a holding pattern for England, for either Arsenal or United, if it did go tits up quickly in Spain.

A potential fly in the ointment of that scenario would be if Liverpool decided to sack Rodgers this summer.

Then I think Klopp would fancy his chances there, if we are so set on Pep.

What are the odds on Pellegrini staying another year?

I think that would be a very bad idea indeed but I can see it happening. I don't see Pep leaving Bayern this season.

I think it could be very risky going for Sabella; he's no experience at all in this league, or even of managing in Europe. We'd be better off sticking with Pellers, at least he knows this league now and has won trophies only last season.

If we do change manager in summer, surely Klopp with his European experience and availability has to be the answer. And why wait around for Pep? It seems a very risky ploy and we'll look pretty daft if he ends up managing Arsenal or Juventus or someone instead. Is he really worth that risk? The media would be all over us being 'snubbed' as well.

Pellers for another season, or if he really has to go, then Klopp or Ancelotti.

Another option is Benitez making an 'emotional' return to Merseyside. Chelsea did it with Maureen.

Still fail to see Klopp coming to City. Only reports of him coming are from the fans. Think people on here wound a lot of people up stating MP is leaving and we're waiting for others.
