Would be my dream appointment. Absolutely the perfect fit for City in every way. If we can get him it will be an enormous statement of intent from the board with regards the direction the club is heading in in the next few years. I was just saying yesterday that City would not move Pellegrini on this summer without having a long term replacement. And suddenly there's one on the market. :)

Get it done Txiki.

Don't think Txiki would be doing the hiring its more the CEO or Chairman

I couldn't care less if Sheikh Mansour did literally go to Dortmund in a fucking Lambo himself. As long as it gets done I'll be a very happy man. Will also reinforce the absolute faith I have in the upper management at our club. Despite the overwhelming recent criticisms they've received.

I'll probably get laughed at for this, but the idea of Guardiola at City has never really excited me that much. The idea of Klopp certainly does though.

If people go mad and use the word holistic to mean absolutely anything that they don't like about the club, they'll go insane when he starts talking about Gesamtkunstwerk

What does that mean "Get to work C*nt?"

Will do for me-beats holistic all day long!

If he brings Gundogan I'm all for him taking over.

Also we might finally have a manager who fucks of 4-4-fecking 2 for good

What formation does he tend to play?
4-2-3-1
Which was incidentally how we were playing when we looked at our most complete and unbeatable.

Agreed. Need our magic man to come through for us here as Klopp is the big one in terms of fitting everything we're trying to do and he's available now.

Competition from basically every major club in the world to some degree.

Us or Arsenal. He's already said his next job will 100% be in the premier league, because it's the only other language he speaks well enough to make the move and get his ideas across. I'd be stunned if Wenger stepped aside this summer for Klopp, but you never know they might react to this news and to us wanting him.

Hence we need to get it done sharpish. That is if it isn't already which frankly, part of me thinks, it is.

It's a German art term that he often used to describe his teams and his role as a manager. It talks about how every part should work together as a whole to benefit that whole, and that individualism as a property cannot work.

So basically it's a German art word that means something very similar to what holistic approach means.

The timing has all the hallmarks of 'working backwards' from start date.

If we're to have a new manager, ideally he needs to start the day after the end of the season, and have immediate influence on transfers etc...
Klopp couldn't leave things to the last day of the season to resign, then pop up at City the day (or even week after).
By announcing his exit early, it makes the transition a little smoother for all concerned, and there would be no real surprises if after a couple of days of Manuel going, we 'speak to Klopp' and hey ho, he's the man for us.

Of course, with his poor season at Dortmund, he may very well have opted out anyway, but the announcement's come very suddenly which tends to suggest 'events' have taken place to trigger his resignation.

We're the most obvious club in Europe right now that's having trouble. Real Madrid's woes are a far cry from ours.

This is happening isn't it??

All the bits of ITK gossip this week and Klopp's own statements about where he will manage next point to one thing only...

I would be very happy with the appointment but think we will need to be very patient next season. There is going to be a lot of transition in terms of change of style and player changes required for a coach like Klopp so it might not all work from day one. Do we as fans have that kind of patience anymore?

Can't see that part happening though.

The EDS are right in the thick of their own title race.

The EDS are there to serve the first team, not the other way around. If the powers that be thought Vieira would improve things with the first team squad, then they should use him for this.

I don't think we'll make a change before the end of the season though.

If Klopp is coming to City - and we'll know in the next 48 hours as the media start to swarm over his next destination - then Pellegrini will be gone very soon. With things at stake we cannot allow a manager to stay in charge when he knows his time is up. Logically it would mean Vieira and you can't then put him in the EDS - you give him the no.2 spot and he does a 3 year (all going well) stint under Klopp before he gets the job himself.

Best person to advise on academy etc. Wilcox becomes EDS manager and so on. He can then help breed the best u18 talents into the EDS and takes a similar route to Vieira. Had Vieira got his badges now to be a Prem manager?

EDIT - Vieira will get his licence this summer but can manage on a temporary period anyway.

I see what you did there with the holistic tie-in!

Why has he / Dortmund come and said he is leaving? Can't see it doing his team much good.
Also think it will add to the uncertainty over pellegrini ' s future which may also not do us too much good in the run in.

After their recent form I reckon Whinger will want a shot at the title next year

Where's my season-ticket renewal pack gone

He'll get bombarded with questions linking him to us. Just hope he doesn't immediately rule us out

And let us also hope it does not distract from beating WHU. We need to finish well to have a chance of pulling this off

The exec wanted to make sure he was serious.

He's the perfect fit for City. I want Klopp more than any other manager, including Pep.

Arsenal already distancing themselves from any links to him.

Scarily all roads seemingly lead to City this summer. Begins to explain the sudden surge in links to German based players too. I don't want to get too excited because I've wanted Klopp of years now, but fuck me it's hard not to with the way the cards seem to be falling.

It may well be happening yes, but I think a lot of the seeming ITK info is actually just stating the obvious, like most of us do!....

Manuel's on borrowed time - check
We're starting to look at other managers - check
There's going to be some big changes - check
It's Klopp, Guardiola, Ancelloti, Sabella, Benitez - check (with a 20% hit rate by default)
The manager we want is already in a job - check (most decent ones are)

The only other potential route I can only see is Madrid
