I am genuinely wondering whether this is a rag who slipped through. There is no possible way that anybody who is a City fan can condier the hiring of the world's most successful DoF who bought last year's Double winning squad as "the single biggest mistake in the past 10 years, maybe ever". That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on Bluemoon, and I genuinely mean that.

You seem to think the situation under Thaksin was the same as now in terms of the resources available, targets and ambitions of the club and everything else. You seem to not understand that we are in a precarious position and proper management and directing behind the scenes is absolutely key going forward and you seem to ignore the fact that Txiki has been awfully wasteful and incompetent in his time here

As I said, you are making a spectacle out of yourself and continue with that, I have made my point clear and I for one believe it is pertinent and if you cannot see it then that is your problem.

He is the single biggest mistake the club has made in the past 10 years, maybe ever and in my reckoning should be the first one out the door with Pellegrini not far behind.

If you really assess how he has done over the past few years, the failure is overwhelming. The money we have wasted, the timidity in the transfer market, the lack of competence in dealing with players and player transfers. It simply has been a horror show.

I here we stand at a crucial transition period wondering how we are in this position.

Fernandinho at £34mil has been his best bit of business. Demichelis has proven to be decent for the low fee we paid though if we actually wanted to sign him in the first place (which is obvious we didn't) we would have taken him on a free from Malaga instead of paying £4 / 5 mil for him from atletico before he had kicked a ball for them.

Obviously Txiki's role is more that just signings. But he has not bought well at all. Ok we made money on Negredo but he's tried to sign someone to partner Aguero and failed 3 times when signing Negredo/Jovetic and extending Dzeko's contract. His latest effort is Bony who obviously needs time but I have a feeling he will go the same was as jovetic and negredo.

To say we won the double because of his signings is laughable. We won the double because of players like Aguero/Dzeko/Toure/Silva/Nasri/Milner/Kompany/Zabaleta/Hart. - the core of players we've had since 2011. The only upgrade we've made of any note on our 2011/12 title winning squad is replacing Barry with Fernandinho. Not good enough when spending around £190mil on new players including Bony.

He is in for a make or break summer for me. He's not got any restrictions and he is tasked with rebuilding our squad. I'm not entirely confident he is going to succeed. I'm expecting a summer of Barkley/De Bruyne after not being able to secure Pogba/Koke/Sterling.

I remember when he arrived reading a huge number of in depth interviews and articles. The substance was:

We would instill 4-3-3 at all levels of the club.

Never happened.

That we were going to press from the front.

Doesn't happen.

That we would limit ourselves to a very few superstar signings, and the others would be €10-20m squad members.

Zero superstars. A whole lot of €30-50m squad players.

What exactly is our direction?
