I have a feeling this guy is paid by the ffp lobby to weaken us.

If he spends 200m in the summer in the way of another Mangalas, Bonys, Fernandos, Caballeros, Jovetic etc, wow, we will be truly fucked...

We will be left behind by Chelsea, Arse, United so much it will hurt...

there is no way he can get us Pogba, Bale etc.

The time to judge him is at the end of the transfer window. NOT NOW.

Constrained by FFP and only Fernando has been a poor buy. Fernandinho was a great buy. Navas good last season (not the same this mind). Negrado was excellent till the injury and family problems. Mangala will be better than OK. Sagna was free and can defend - just not that good at overlapping.

Constrained?? Still spent 26m on Bony and nearly 40m on Mangala. The constrained stuff is a myth. We spent too much on average/bad players

Begiristain and Soriano can both go IMO. Too may bad signings have been presided over and Soriano is responsible for us "failing" so-called FFP, for Begiristain and for his shorttermist views on managers in that he doesn't see one being around for 10 years if he's continually successful why not?. Then get in Ancelotti if not available, Klopp, if not him then Vieira. I know Pat is not experienced but he is doing very well.

What exactly is Txiki's role? My understanding now which may be false is that he signs the players, and the manager uses them. Surely it would work better if we retain Txiki for his contacts and negotiation skills, but allow the manager to sign whomever he wants? Then we keep Txiki's negiotation and his contacts, the manager can tell Txiki who he wants and he makes it happen.

If what I've said above is complete bollocks and that already does happen, then Txiki should be noway under threat, as he sold fringe players quickly for decent money, and bought players for amounts which were realistic. (Remember 32m for Mangala is alot, but Barcelona and PSG were after him, and Swansea didn't have to sell Bony and his goalscoring record was something)

Considering Soriano and his business knowledge i'd not even consider letting him go, he's doing his job to an A+, i'd like to see people with knowledge actually give some names to replace Begiristain and Soriano, and at the same time explain why and how the replacement could and can do a better job.

On what do you base your "A+" rating for Soriano?
I'd promote Tom Glick from within as he has been instrumental in increasing revenue., and put Marwood back in as Director of Football the signings were better under Marwood.

Not a great record on player signings...

Fernandinho
Navas
Jovetic
Negredo
Demichelis
Fernando
Sagna
Caballero
Zuculini
Mangala
Bony

And a fucking awful record on selecting the manager.
The two best Fernandinho and Demichelis.

Fernandinho - supposedly lined up pre-Txiki, but that's arguable.

Demichelis - obviously a Pellegrini request, seeing as Txiki let him go to Atletico on a free before buying him at a cost.

Everyone else has proved below expectations apart from perhaps Sagna.

Didn't Txiki go all out to sign Fernandinho after speaking to Pellegrini?

My understanding was Txiki allowed Pellegrini to choose one big signing as a sort of "golden hello."

He may or may not have also been on Mancini's wish list.

Wasn't the effort we put into signing Fernandinho in part why we were too slow in tying up the Isco deal?
Well on that evidence Pellegrini should be director of football!
