Best young english player, make that best english player full stop. Best defender in La Liga last year. Bundesliga player of the year. Plus a current english midfielder for 8 million. Throw in a couple of talented youngsters. Almost perfect window. Certainly way better than any other PL club has managed. So well done Txiki.

First major doubts were creeping in about Txiki earlier this summer. Now all washed away. Well done, build this man a statue. Or give him the fat bonus that is no doubt on the way to him anyway.

Whether one was or was not a doubter, this had to be seen as a big summer for Txiki and he has had a belter; if he ices the cake now, he'll be a legend.

Yup, and not just for the fact that he got the deals done, but because he had to negotiate and keep his patience with some absolute knobheads in the process

The doubts over Txiki over the last two years in corners of our fanbase have not reflected well on football fans in general. I really hope that the scales have fallen from a few eyes with regards to the quality we now have right through our club.

We are entering a new era again. This is going to be an unparalleled period of success and domination for MCFC. Txiki is only part of that but by God it's been refreshing to see us do business with class this summer. Sorry to keep repeating myself, but nobody seems to get it: the fact that we squeezed out all the competition with all these top players, by tying them down first, has been incredible.

The future is finally here. The sheikh's vision is taking shape and the Champions League is next.
