Ditch Viagogo Petition

if you"re quite happy in the thought that..........as long as i get a few quid and some other blue is getting ripped royaly and some prick in his rip off mansion is sat there laughing his bollocks off then there is nothing wrong is there?????

I believe the bloke who owns it lives in a converted volcano

All those saying it stops empty seats etc. Ive got to disagree there is a whole block of them in the bellend level 3 every sold out game because city have to give them a set amount of seats to sell at inflated prices every game.

I am a season ticket holder and purposely get a platinum card. I travel 350 miles return journey to home games and when SKY decide to stick it on a Monday night and I can't get the time off work then this is an invaluable way of clawing back some funds. It's easy for people to knock it but I'd rather give another blue the opportunity to use my seat than to see it empty. People need to remember not everyone is as fortunate as them and can't make every game.

there's a number of issues involved in the whole secondary ticket scenerio.

Firstly the club needs to make money and viagogo obviously pay them a decent wedge for their services, as for the seats in the third tier that they obviously give them for each match, this is unfortunate and I would much rather see these on open sale via the club but lets face it they rip us off in plenty of other ways (see price of nike strips, price of blue membership etc etc).

Secondly as many have put on here, you are not forced to use them, they dont pop a gun to your head do they. There's plenty of tickets going around on here so for users of bluemoon have nothing to worry about, just stay away from it.

Thirdly, this is my main gripe about the service and its not about the club nor viagogo but the city fans who hugely inflate the prices of the tickets they list. If they didnt do this the prices wouldnt be half as big a rip off as they are. Come on 'face value only' people then we could just moan about viagogo's over inflated fees!

have to agree, that even though i detest them, its the fans from clubs that are selling these tickets at inflated prices, if all fans with spare tickets passed them on to someone else then,we have no need viagogo, but its just not the fans selling them, its the idiots buying at inflated prices imo

It's not the fan who is selling that sets the price. Viagogo set a minimum price.

Last year I couldn't make the Arsenal game. My season card worked out at approx. £ 36.00 per game. The minimum I could sell it for was £ 54.00.

Some poor sod paid an extra £ 18.00.

If I had given it away, or sold it the pub for face value & the club found out, I could have been banned. It just doesn't seem right.

Viagogo is an invaluable service to some.

Those that are complaining have a simple decision. Don't use it.

Instead of some numpty starting a petition to get it removed from the club, why don't they offer up an alternative so that people that use the service (for buying or selling) don't lose out?

It is the club who set the minimum selling price not Viagogo. I am no lover of Viagogos' fees but the least you could do if you are going to criticize them is get the facts right. If you do not believe me then check out the T&Cs on MCFC OS:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Tickets-and-Seasoncards/Ticket-Exchange" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Tickets-and-Seaso ... t-Exchange</a>

Second paragraph:

These are the moments where Ticket Exchange comes in handy. Available for Superbia and Platinum Seasoncard holders, it allows you to sell your ticket* to another City member for between 90% and 150% of its value.

The club set the 90% minimum to prevent ST holders from undercutting the matchday ticket price after Viagogo have added their fees. It isn't that difficult to grasp, but I guess we shouldn't let the facts get in the way of the agenda.
