There was a great documentary on this a few years ago. They took a cross selection of people and DNA tested them, one woman had a fascination in chinese pottery and was totally unaware she had chinese ancestry going back quite a few generations. They also had a self confessed racist who was adamant he was 100% British. Turned out he had African and Eastern European ancestors and he was livid. Last time I checked I had a pint of Jock blood in me which would explain why I never get my wallet out.
