Do foreign fans understand the hatred?

Mmmmmmm......................... Nah speak for yaself mate. In football terms hatred just about sums up how I feel about the Rag bastards! When we were shit they made my life a fuckin misery and I don't forgive or forget that easily.

An enemy is for life not just until we're at their level.

I support my team and club, no room for hatred, far to many people on here are obsessed by them, and in my opinion it's unhealthy, I really don't care about them they are a club that are in slow decline, whilst City are on the ascent, in a few years they will be in Liverpool's position living off their "istry"

I think there's a distinction to be made about hating them personally or as football fans. Two of my sons turned out to be Rags inspite of my vain attempts to convert them back to where they started as blues. When we sunk into the old 3rd division, they were nearly in tears that I was forcing them to be different to all their friends by insisting that they remain blue so I let them make and take the road they have which broke my heart.

I obviously don't hate my sons, but I hate them as typical arrogant Rags!! The younger of the two recently referred to us City fans as scumbags! I fuckin despair...

As a loving parent, I would never wish any harm or displeasure to afflict any of my children apart from those two where football is concerned. Whilst growing up, my sons, my friends and work colleagues took the piss out of me mercilessly for supporting City, but I now take great pleasure in reminding them that I always told them nothing but nothing lasts forever and that one day I'd live long enough to see us back where we belonged which was ahead of them. We've not achieved that feat as yet, but the sense of relief I'll feel if that day ever comes will be fuckin immense!

The difficult takes time, the impossible takes that little bit longer...............

Seriously..I don't know how you can let that happen

I have two boys under 2 and they will grow up Nited fans over my dead and rotting corpse

well...I think that you are a bit obsessed with United, this forum is full with messages where you can read about them, about his manager, his plastic fans (i don´t understand either what is that) and his bad season , to be honest i don´t think that they do the same, at least not so much. The first thing to do to become a "big" team is stop thinking about the others and focus in keeping this good situation during many years (since your sheikh won´t be always there).I can´t imagine me or other madrid fans talking all the time about Atletico.I see u now like Atletico but with lots of money. Big teams need to keep a big colony of fans, in the own country and outside. Why do you call them plastics? because they are not from Manchester? Nobody support Juventus in Torino but is the biggest team in Italy, actually I am not from Madrid..so...forget about them...and sell us Silva :)

As i am not from outside the UK i might have a differing opinion than some, but many times i have been sitting inside (or the odd time the sun shines) outside a bar in Manchester and got talking to rags, and found them respectful of us for travelling over to watch the blues, compared to the slagging we USED to get from idiots that couldnt find their way from Old Trafford Cricket Ground to the swamp, though i have also "enjoyed" twats "taking" a blue bar in Gorton when only two Blues were there after a derby, so i think quite a few of the "non-manc" blues have every bit as much antipathy to the rags as those born and bred within sight of Maine Road

I remember being a little kid sat in front of the telly watching Utd v Benfica in The European Cup Final (think I'd only been to Maine Road once by then)....I was willing the team in white to win and deeply upset when they didn't. Think I was born to hate them and will do 'til the day I die!....

You have actually hit the nail on the head there! I do think some City fans are a bit insecure, sure they gave us stick for years, but that's past now just revel in winning and being better! They are just another team nothing special, and now the history of Football in Manchester is being put right (City were by far the bigger and more successful club for many years)

Living in Dublin (suburb of trafford) you take on a siege mentality. You come across rags who are the most arrogant ignorant cunts with no class who rabbit on about their history and trophies won and yet could'nt answer relevant questions about this history. So in one sense i am grateful to the rags because my hatred for them is balanced only by my undying love for City

TBH that tale isn't as simple as that, needless to say that the eldests mother (my ex) who hates football turned him into a Rag just to wind me up and when she remarried a rabid Rag a few years after our split, it was game over! The younger boy just idolised his older brother and wanted to copy him in everything he did and at the time City were at their lowest ebb in the old 3rd division & The Swamp Dwellers were steam-rollering everyone and everything in site.

I wanted my boys to love Manchester City the same way I did and not to support them because I forced them to. It hurts, but it was a battle not worth fighting but I'm cool with it now.

You have my respect, mate. Unlucky, mind... but nuff respect for being a man first, football fan second

Just a question to our foreign based City fans..

Do you get the hatred we have for the rags?

Obviously you are not as exposed as we are in Manchester/Uk to rags in the flesh..so maybe the rivalry doesn't impact on you as much?

I don't hate them in fact I'm really enjoying the scrap for the title and I'd rather we were scrapping with them than say Chelsea for instance, apart from all of that my son is a United fan and there is no hate there, just a really good rivalry .
does your son live with you and if so what the fuck where you thinking?

only this.plus Irish rags are the most arrogant and ignorant wankers you've ever met.99% only watch them on telly but are hardcore, the other 1% made 1 pilgrimmage to the gift shop.

I used to get great joy urinating on the man utd shop in town...almost sorry it went out of business.

almost.
