Do you look after your body?

I'm not talking about going to the gym five times a week :)

Just simple things like not smoking, not eating crap, going for a nice brisk walk a couple of times a day etc.

I'm addicted to Chocolate and I love a good meat and potato, chips, peas and gravy in a chippy.

However, I have had enough, as from today it stops,

(I've been saying that for the last three years lol!)

Any tips?

I have a nice treadmill and exercise bike, I'll have to take the dust sheets off.
See you at KFC tomorrow mate.

10,000 steps a day
Stop eating shit
Stop drinking (or at least reduce it)

Stick to a routine and be consistent and the weight will soon start coming off and you'll feel a lot better about yourself

I was just under 16st in August, and just by walking more, eating a lot less shit, and drinking very rarely has seen me lost just shy of 2st

Doesn't even really feel a chore but in a nutshell, alcohol and shit food are probably the main contributors to you feeling like shit

“10k steps a day” is bollocks mate. And it takes too long.

20 mins of vigorous running, stepping, cycling, rowing, swimming is well enough for your average Joseph.

Turn 50 next year, I clean eat 6 times a week, at least 4/5 gym sessions all at 5:15am as its the only time I can fit it into the day. Try read. At least 15 pages of a book a day and 10 mins of mindfulness. I honestly feel great about life and have wuality time with the family.

One tip is avoid all the “protein” shit in supermarkets, they are full of crap and sugar.
Wuality mate.

Thinks that’s 3 abusive responses I’ve had to the fact I put tuna in an omelette , never struck me as being an issue and I find it quite tasty or is it just me ?

I think you're over-estimating what the average Joe is capable of in starting their fitness journey

One advantage of tracking steps is that it does show up how sedentary your life can be. If you work from home and drive everywhere, it can be pretty shocking how little you actually move about.

You're right that it's surprisingly difficult to rack up 10,000 steps if you sit down most of the day, and then try to do it as exercise.

On the other hand, it's surprising how easy it is, if you have a couple of errands to run, walk the kids to school, walk to the local shop, walk to the tram etc. Walking back into town after the match isn't much different timewise to waiting for the tram, or queuing in the car park, but those steps add up.

Anyone else hit with any/several of those viruses doing the rounds?
I had Covid again in August last year. Few weeks recovery (no exercising at all) then picked up so I could run again after three weeks or so.

Original bout of Covid back in 2021 left me unable to exercise full for nearly a year (long covid for sure).
I had a lung infection back in November and as it wasn't shifting I went to the docs. Tried antibiolrics but didnt clear as was indeed viral.
Was about to pick up again then got hit by the flu. Was bed ridden for days (I could just anbout crawl around and head the migraine from hellk for nearly a week).

Again, picked up over Xmas, but not fully. Ran a few park runs however.
Then managaged to ger yet another bug from the kids (another chest bug but one with the sore throat).

As of today I've been absolutely exhausted for the past few weeks. Can't run atm as get breathless v quickly, but seem to be picking up again.

Think I'm just susceptible to winter bugs, akthough the last few years I've been free completely (run in the cold of the winter, do cold showers etc).

Eat little (start at 11 with fruit, nuts, oats and yoghurt) then have a healthy evening meal.
Haven't drank in weeks and barely do anyway.

Not sure what else I can do but itching to get back to full running.

Think it's because you've not fried it in lard first ;-)
