Only if you told me that it would mean Chelsea missing out on 4th spot. They're the only club I think makes a difference to us whether they miss out or not.
I think that's short-sighted. Arsenal are a huge club and once they've paid off their stadium and have decent money coming in from naming rights will be able to challenge again in future if they decide to spend. In brutal terms of what is best for City, it's better if one of these long-term threats falls from grace at the hands of Spurs, and I say this with utter selfishness because Spurs are second only to the rags on my shit list, miles ahead of Chelsea and slightly ahead of Arsenal.

Short sightedness is what the situation calls for. Chelsea are the immediate threat, Arsenal won't be there for a couple of seasons at least. We still have building to do, and still need to elevate our status amongst players considering a move here. Chelsea missing out will help us more than Arsenal.

Eitherway, as long as one of them drop out. Spurs need to hold on.

i agree only way id take a city loss would be for Chelsea to miss out, no top 4 no Jose, Falcao etc.....top 4 they are threat next year 5th they are not

Another silly question.I hate it when Manchester City lose to any team home or away!!!!.In an ideal world there wouldnt be any London teams.

I hate Arsenal, I mix between 'dislike' and 'no real opinion' on Spurs...yet I want City to win every competitive game even if it was directly benefitting to United.

Only once or twice in my life have I thought I wanted us to lose a game

Leeds mid 90s at home springs to mind when they were battling the rags for the title. Think we beat em 4-0 and I was happy as fuck.

I don't think it's a stupid thread at all. Other clubs are a threat to our success as we have to compete against them. Chelsea and Arsenal are bigger threats than Spurs because they are clubs with much bigger revenues. Wanting one of those clubs to lose out to Spurs is very logical. Doesn't mean you want another club to beat you but can a loss hurt less if the damage is ultimately lesser in importance. Of course it can. In the same way that some victories mean more, some losses mean less. I was much less bothered about the prospect of being beaten by Chelsea on Sunday than I had been the rags. This meant I wasn't a nervous wreck the whole fucking day. Can't see why the OP is getting so much stick.

This.

I've tried to rationalise who I want to get top 4 on the basis of who will be the biggest threat to City in the future, but maybe Chelsea and Arsenal are going to be threats anyway with their financial resources and if Spurs get top 4 it puts them on a par and creates yet another contender.

Still feel City have a tiny chance of winning the title, and that chance will become significant if we can beat Spurs and Utd fail to beat Villa. I've been waiting all season for the wheels to come off Utd. And they have but just not in the League. This is their form in their last 8 games

LDWWLLWD - unfortunately most of losses are in Europe and FA Cup.

Remember they have Chelsea and Arsenal to come, so take their current form, apply it to their coming fixtures and add a bit of tension and it could happen.......all depends on City beating Spurs, and Villa taking something from Old Trafford. If we beat Spurs, it might be time to get those Premiership dreams going again.
