Do you pinch from self service counters?

Went to Northenden tip a few years ago to dump some building waste.Took a wrong turn and ended up where the council bin wagons arrived. It was like East Germany when the wall was up.While I was having a "debate" with one of the Stazi on duty, the wagons, all ostensibly carrying different types of waste, dumped all their contents on the same pile.Unbelievable Jeff.
I'll mention that to the wife. She goes all out to separate everything into different bags, boxes and bins, checks when each bin wagon is coming and when. Me, chuck it in the bin, knowing full well that what you have written is more than likely what goes on. I burn cardboard on our fire,ooohhh....cant do that. Yes I can, it's burnt in a huge incinerator where someone else gets warm at my expense and it's mine, all mine I tells yer.

It's all part of the con-job to justify council-tax rises every year.

I never use the self-service till. Scared I might make an honest mistake and diddle the store Even more scared I might end up diddling myself.
Once bought 12 packs of floor tiles from Homebase (£25 per pack). The girl on checkout only punched in 6. My partner pointed out her error to her. Said she thought the check-out girl might get into trouble.

I grabbed a bottle of Diet Coke from Marks & Spencer at Lime Street on Saturday and I’m fairly sure every till was self service.

Firstly, yes I've stolen a few bits from Asda but genuinely by accident. At least once.

We use the scan and go devices and if there's two of you or in my case sometimes three, you can quite easily forget to scan something. Which my daughter did. So is she technically the thief? She was 7 at the time.

Anyway, the second point. As if people genuinely believe that self serve machines put people out of jobs :D Supermarkets haven't laid people off because of the machines.... they simply just move people to somewhere else. They do uber eats, deliveroo orders. Online orders for collection etc too. It's just the way things evolve.
Self scan tills can reduce the staff in a major supermarket by up to 30%. That’s why they install them. No other reason.

Is that in a council where they threaten to fine residents if they put stuff in the wrong bin, and would you have grounds for doing it if that's what the council do?
