Do you pinch from self service counters?

If the wife goes shopping in Tesco, she uses the hand held scanner going round the store, fills up the trolley and pays by card on exiting.
Never checked by staff.
How are the spot checks carried out.
Is it profiling or completely random.

Firstly, yes I've stolen a few bits from Asda but genuinely by accident. At least once.

We use the scan and go devices and if there's two of you or in my case sometimes three, you can quite easily forget to scan something. Which my daughter did. So is she technically the thief? She was 7 at the time.

Anyway, the second point. As if people genuinely believe that self serve machines put people out of jobs :D Supermarkets haven't laid people off because of the machines.... they simply just move people to somewhere else. They do uber eats, deliveroo orders. Online orders for collection etc too. It's just the way things evolve.
So they contribute to understaffing a store effectively?

Is that in a council where they threaten to fine residents if they put stuff in the wrong bin, and would you have grounds for doing it if that's what the council do?
No idea of the legal implications mate.It was around ten years ago when I went to the tip.I would imagine that councils have upped their game dramatically by now given the pressures now existing with regards to plastics pollution
and waste management.
