Save Ticket Offices

Over the last year the RMT has been campaigning against the DfT managed train companies’ plans for wholesale ticket office closures. The result has been the largest ever response to a government consultation. On October 31, 2023 the government announced the plans had been dropped.

Some TOCs have "accidentally" put fake scan codes on their official public consultation notice.

Yep, weird that people in ticket offices would try to keep their jobs.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to protect their livelihood; their income; their future, their children’s future; put food on the table; pay the mortgage? Crazy idea.

People do.

They are then mis sold tickets which registered when scanned and charged again.

I tell people not to use it however it seems to have become the standard contractor as they do what we call our friends and family tickets allocations now.


Private Eye has alleged that someone in the DFT is banging one of the board at the Trainline.

Can't they all just get other jobs? After all, ballerinas can become computer programmers, or arc welders or deep sea divers according to the government a few years back.
Perhaps they can pick fruit; I'm sure the training will be quick.
