The machine does not do all the work. A popular misconception. Any fuckwit can make it go, but it takes a shit ton of training to know how, when and where to stop the bastard. But I will admit that when things do go wrong, we have considerably less distance to plummet.
Those ones in Australia that are about 5 miles long must take hours to make one manoeuvre!

You can literally switch off the controls in flight. And you don't usually get desperate people trying to end their lives by jumping in front of a plane at 37000 feet.
 
I heard one of the Reps from aslef today saying the new minimum service law was a blessing as they are now getting paid to strike and it will be longer and more disruptive.

Not sure if that’s a fair assessment or the rep being a bit bullish for the cameras, but a proper own goal by the government if it is.

That'll be the same management contract others will have.

Explains a lot about their thinking when the job goes tits up.
