Do you think we are building up to World War 3?

My answer is Donald Trump could be more worrying. Because unlike Obamha or Clinton, both of whom are considered, experienced politicians who seek and build concensus, Trump is not. The chances of Obama or Clinton doing something insane were small to nil. I cannot say the same about Trump.

If you have a look at the history of the last 100 odd years you will see that experienced politicians have a pretty poor record globally when it comes to making decisions regarding wars, no matter how experienced they are it makes little or no difference as to the levels of stupidity that they achieve. I think Trump is a fucking idiot, a modern version of Reagan in some respects and the saying "only in America" rings true in this instance (unless we vote Corbyn in).

Obama has been doing things that are on the border of insane and Hilary had clearly stated she was going to do things that were bordering on insane....and seriously come on what kind of nut thinks that showering Isis, DPRK, Putin, Comrade Kim, Erdogan, with love would solve the worlds problem other than Hilary, Michelle Obama and possibly Jeremy Corbyn. As much as I understand your fears regarding Donald I really think that justifying those fears on account of his lack of experience compared to the others is very flawed indeed.

The whole thing is a bloody awful mess currently, more so than I think 90% of the population realise, there is much to be concerned about, and some of that concern rightly is along the lines of WTF is Trump going to do...but only some and the hysteria about this guys election is deflecting attention away from many more worrying issues that could very easily tip the world into the shit.

I cant say I was a great fan of Bush the second but something he said always stays with me, he said its important we learn the lessons of history, and he is right. Worldwide history is being totally ignored, largely due to greed and I am sorry to say we are going to pay dearly for that. Maybe not in 2017 maybe not in the next 5 years, bit within the next 20 years there is going to be huge problems and I would be very surprised if Nuclear weapons have not been used in 20 years from now.

Is there any evidence that someone inexperienced will be better at making decisions regarding wars than an experienced politician?

Yes I have read up on some of those near misses. Operation Able Archer and the Russian who ignored his screens telling him warheads were on the way and instead going with gut instinct.
It was a Norwegian Rocket launch or something which the Norwegians had forget to tell Anyone about!

The biggest threat for me currently is cyber based. People are getting more switched on to technology by the day and I am sure the hacking prevention teams have a round the clock job to stop this.

I remember watching War Games back in the day as a kid and thinking Christ this could actually really happen! Of course I was young and didn't know better but I think it's still a threat.
Information/cyber warfare is where it's at, and it's nothing new. We've been at it since the trenches of WW1 when we intercepted enemy telephone communication lines.

Stuxnet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuxnet) is a relatively recent foray into cyber warfare where 4 zero day exploits (zde's) were employed to disrupt the Iranian nuclear industry centrifuges.

A zde is effectively the internet equivalent of an extremely precise 1000lb bomb. The sneaky thing with a zde is that you can't do anything about it until you detect it; by which time it is usually too late. They are usually one shot cyber weapons, but occasionally remain undetected and continue to wreak havoc for a number of hours/days/weeks/months (as in the case of Stuxnet).

It's a fair bet that the usual suspects have a bag full of zde's, just waiting for the right time to use them.

I was good at programming as a kid, a wizz on the old BBC computer. However All my promising education and future went up in smoke the minute I found one of my dads porn mags in the wardrobe!
