Do you think your midfield is strong enough without Nigel?

Citys midfield is super strong with or without Nigel, but there is this feeling that either he thinks he is too good for City, or, he's not quite good enough for City

Love Nige - total tower, but i think something is going on behind the scenes and its probably got a pound sign on it.
ITK?

The defence is alot stronger with Nigel in it. However we should be able to cope whether Nigel plays or not. Most of the goals that we have conceded this season have been becuse we have given the ball away with a careless pass.

1 of the worst culprits of this has been Joe Hart who nearly cost us a goal last Sunday with that awful freekick which he sliced right to a Fulham player, good job he didn'r control it properly otherwise it could have led to a goal.

Often not. Think no goals against Arsenal, home draws to Birmingham and Blackburn, no goals at home to United etc.

I'm happy to accept sometimes we need Nigel, but also intelligent enough to realise sometimes he is a hindrance.

You are the worst poster on here!

I've just read his "David Silva" thread and I swear down, Its one of the worst ever. gotta be a red

How can a request be false?

Ok sorry I will rephrase that: the implied assumption is clearly false.
Implied assumption? You mean implication?

And who says it implies anything? Maybe it does ;), but isn't that assumption clearly a manifestation of your own judgement?

I hope one day you meet Stephen Ireland and ask him about my "implied assumption."

We both know what I am referring - attackers are not scared of De Jong the end.

Btw, the SI bit was because Stephen Ireland told me this himself when I met him and asked what he thought of De Jong in the holding role. He didn't say they were scared but he did say he has a dominating effect on the game.

No one is implying that they're scared. I don't know what matches you've been watching, but as soon as De Jong starts imposing himself, they try to circumvent him. Of course not every time, but it's clear to see, especially when they didn't mind taking on Barry more often than De Jong. Fact. End of.

We are are different team with De Jong patrolling, he just sweeps the midfield with his amazing energy.
Only worry is that the injury came prior to his reaching full match fitness, and taking weeks out MAY have an effect on him getting to his fitness levels of last season.
For me he is the first name on the team sheet.

I am sorry teams do not play down the wings to "circumvent" De Jong. Teams played down the wing because we had 3 excellent central midfielders and 2 excellent cbs, and because Silva gave very little cover to our fbs.

And when Steven Ireland was there, De Jong had such a dominating effect that he was dorpped for the 1st 4 games of the season.

I don't understand what people have against him. He's helped us a hell of a lot. Strong in the tackle, breaks down play and gets the ball on the floor. Great cover for us. He may not be the best technically but at least he puts fight and effort into performances. I'd rather have him than the pussies down at Arsenal. Oh, and De Rossi over De Jong? Get real.

No one has anything against him - it is just the attitude that he is god that pisses some of us off.

E.g. " De Rossi over De Jong? Get real."

De Rossi is in a different league to De Jong.
